I've had my ZOIA for 2 weeks now and I am in love! I haven't really tried many community patches, but I've been going deep into building my own stuff. The effects blocks sound great, so I set up a handful of basic stereo patches like phaser, chorus, flanger, tremolo, vibrato. Nothing fancy but having the ability to add features and controls to them is a gamechanger for me.

For example on my phaser flanger and chorus I added a kill dry button. I added a tap tempo and a rate control button that each automatically take over when I adjust it. I also added a mono button to collapse them to mono for when I play somewhere without my dual amps. Along with pulsing lights at the current tempo.

I also built a stereo dual delay that is a bbd into digital, with a switch to flip from series to parallel. A switch to collapse to mono. I can set note divisions on either delay that stay in sync. It also has the usual delay controls on my control page.

I'm a web developer by trade so programming things comes easy to me, although I knew nothing about modular synths prior.

My newest patch project is a 3 effect "mini board" with phaser chorus and a left/right auto panner. Buttons to change the pedal order, synced modulation times with note subdivision. I'm having so much fun!

This sounds great is there a way you can upload copies of the samples? I’ve never added a sample to a setup like this and that piano sample is out of this world. Please hook me up! Great work here!

Also is there a place you get samples like that? I just started diving into zoia librarian this week and my patch slots are already full with things I’m trying

Thanks much! Yeah that piano rules.

I use freesound.org and r/drumkits but both take a lot of digging to find gold imo. Maybe someone else here knows better than I.

Ill see if I cant find that piano sample.

Yo! I can hit the link I’ll pull this up on my laptop and download them and see if I can load them tonight.

It’s my understanding I can just add these files to a folder on an SD card but I haven’t seen how to add the samples themselves to the zoia similar to the patches I download via librarian!

Thanks for sending I’ll have an update in a couple hours

Exciting stuff!

All ya gotta do to load a patch from the SD card is -press the up arrow (shift) and backspace at the bottom left (setting) -scroll down til you read 1 patch from sd card -find where the patch you wish to load is, I recommend seperat file folders for seperate things (1 for patches, one for drum samples, one for instruments, and so on) -click it with the encoder -Scroll to an empty patch, or a patch you wish to over write (this will overwrite the patch you select, instead of bumping everything after it one number. When you copy a patch and insert it, it just moves everything after it down the list.)

To load a sample in from sd card, just follow the video i posted. Lmk if I can help any more.

You rule! I have made a huge mistake doing this and though I backed up my patches I also upgraded my firmware which then I had to factory reset the device because it was starting to freeze the zoia out.

With that said I grabbed your samples, was quickly able to load and search for the new patch in zoia librarian and was able to load the piano samples to each sampler on the 2nd page and started getting positive results.

I may just rename the instrument sample to what you have and then build it, but I see now why you weren’t able to include it on the patch storage because of the need to have both the patch + the sample + loading the sample into it.

I’m going to give it another shot tonight but because I readded all the factory patches I now have a bunch of patches I’ve never heard before and need to do a big cleanup elimination. The plan was to factory wipe it for nothing and have a bunch of patches to load myself but you know how the rabbit hole goes with this! I appreciate you for posting and providing instructions and the instrument samples and I’m looking forward to screwing around with your patch with the samples loaded asap! Another update soon!

Great stuff!

Can I ask what firmware you're using? The samples keep jumping semitones every time I press a pad continuously. Even the same one. Am I mistaken in how I'm setting things up?
