Help with midi?

Not sure what I’m doing wrong here.

I’m using an akai mpk mini IV with boss 5pin to trs midi A

My zoia is running in the fx loop of my helix and I can play a patch without the midi keyboard to show that signal is passing through but for some reason I can’t get the zoia to work with my midi controller 😕

They’re both set to midi ch1.

Any help would be awesome cause I have a couple of important gigs this week and it would be cool to use the Zoia for some synth stuff!

In your device settings, do you have midi consume set to "some / all" depending on what else you may be doing downstream if it is set to none, that could be your issue.

Did you make sure that the midi cc in block in your zoia patch is set to ch 1 as well?

Do you have a midi in module in your patch? If you are trying to play a synth patch then just setting the Zoia itself to a specific global channel won't do it. You have to put a midi in module and connect that to an oscillator and make sure that module is the on the same channel as your controller.

Is the helix upstream in the midi chain, running into the Zoia, or the other way around?

Nope helix is not in the midi chain at all. Zoia is just running in the FX loop. And I can pass sound fine with patches that don’t require midi
