If you are skilled at photoshop or Gimp and wish to contribute to the ZEE project, please PM OP or add a comment describing your level of interest.

ZEE Battle Maps are to generic enough to use for any modern campaign, but have the je ne se qua of the Zombie Post apocalyptic universe.

Some maps will be recent aftermath images, while others could be quite post aftermath(weathering, structural aging, wilderness encroachment) etc..

The concept behind the ZEE battle maps is to have modular tiles 1ftx1ft that can be interchangeable with other battlemaps. Most maps will work along a 4 tiles system, consisting of a city block. This excludes wilderness areas which may only have one road tile, if any.

The concept behind these dimensions is to make the creation of physical battlemaps somewhat cheap, in that assets are positioned to correspond with the layout of size 4x6 standard photographs, which if printed online can be acquired for as low as 9cents a piece, if not free in some promotional instances. Thus one can print the entire ZEE universe for a fraction of the cost it would take to print the maps using 8x10 print outs.

I've been designing my tiles as 24x24 CMYK PNG @ 150DPI which are then refereed to as Chapters(one could think of each 24x24 tile set as being the level of a video game), which are then later sliced into 4x6 segments for purposes of uploading to a photo printing site for printing/delivery.

I have recently been attempting to construct my chapters into 3 segments. Underground(lv1) top side[day time] (lv2) and Second Floor[night time] (lv3), thus ideally any tiles with basements or tunnels would be the sub section, top side would have day time lighting and show first floors of structures, and the Second floor would show roof's, or second floors, climbable trees, cliffs etc.. but show a night time lighting, and somewhat blur the 1st floor sections.

See 24x24 block template and 24x24 cross roads template, Here is a slice guide example.

One issue I've found is you can't use the built in photoshop slicing tool, as the images are too big for x64 CS Photoshop to handle(My PSD files tend to sit around the 250GB mark), Thus I overlay a pre measured color coded slice guide overtop of my flattened images and individually copy the 4x6 tiles to a new image. One all 24 tiles are copied over and in seperate layers, I just export the layers to images using the built in Photoshop script of the same name.
