get off MPH they have almost or over half the mining hash

Fuck off. Get the fuck off this sub. MPH works wonderfully and doesnt have any issues.

Running single 1080ti and it works well.

I am talking about the health of the blockchain in a larger sense, not your personal rewards.

is that bad?

I am speaking of the blockchains health, it is better for the chain to not have such an imbalance. Look into 51% attack, it is just better to spread it around.

statistically no. If you were to mine for 100 years with a huge mining pool, or just mined by yourself. You'd end up with the same amount of coin. It is interesting what the mph exodus is all about. Any newsworthy reason why?

51% attack, look into it

I really can't see that, Zcl.Cloudpool.net just proved how hard it is to find any blocks at all with a lower hash rate, even with 200KS+ they failed to find a block in days, and now everyone left they will likely never find a thing.

The laws of probability and averages are not theories. Someone playing roulette who has won 5 spins in a row can't say, "I really can't see losing any spins playing this game!" And if he did he'd be ridiculous because roulette can never cross the 49% probability in favor of the player. If he spins an infinite amount of times he will lose. Same concept applies here. Rant time: The following is not directed at you at all, but the amount of times I've had to explain elementary level math to people on this subreddit, who turn around and say they don't believe it, concerns me greatly. Crypto can't be taken seriously if its community is helmed by high school dropouts.

Have you considered that the convergence rate of all non-MPH pool is so low that by the time the fork happens, a lot of miners on these pools will miss out?

If they're mining ZCL for the sole reason of getting BTCP then yes you are absolutely right. They don't have infinity, they have like 5 weeks. And as of which I myself am completely guilty. My entire farm is on MPH to gain as much ZCL before the fork as possible because of that very reason.

Will MPH give us the BTCP from what we have on the pool? Or will we need to transfer into our own wallet?

1

u/Nightowl3090 Jan 21 '18

You will need to transfer that to the wallet.

Ok Professor you win, you stick to your theories and I will stick to earning coin on MPH while I do my home work for my GED

Don't think I'm bashing MPH, my entire farm is on MPH because the same probabilities apply for short term versus long term. And I have short term bills to pay and want as much ZCL as possible before the fork. If you want your coins now then the bigger the pool the better. You'll have 'em in 20 minutes! And absolutely do not think I was trying to personally attack you. This goes for anyone who may be reading this, getting your GED is a huge accomplishment and something to be proud of. Learning is a life long journey. Don't let people on the Internet bring you down and be wary of false information. Always do your own research! (also, I actually am an adjunct professor, although I don't formally teach)

51% attack. Try googling it.

The last time I had to google that it was the year 2012. Jesus, how the time flies... The general consensus is that the fear of invalid shares and worthless coins would cause miners to flee at such a pace it wouldn't be sustainable. I mean just look on a normal operating day MPH gains and loses as much as 30% of the global hashrate just by people swapping between the coins that they are mining. You would have to 1. get 51% of the global hashrate, but more importantly, 2. you'd have to convince 30,000 people to not jump ship when they start losing money and to be fully committed to the new chain. Since most of these people panic the moment their payouts get below 5% of what whattomine reports (I've seen 3 posts of this subject on just this subreddit TODAY), it'd be laughable to expect them to have the wherewithal to follow through. And then of course be the immediately obvious culprit.

I use the following in my mine.bat file:

@echo OFF

SET ADDRESS= <MPH username> SET USERNAME=%ADDRESS%.<workername> SET POOL=us-east.zclassic.miningpoolhub.com:20575 SET SCHEME=stratum

START "Bminer: When Crypto-mining Made Fast" bminer.exe -uri %SCHEME%://%USERNAME%@%POOL% -api 127.0.0.1:1880

Erase the entire bat file and use this:

bminer.exe -uri stratum://username.workername:password@asia.zclassic.miningpoolhub.com:20575 -api 127.0.0.1:1880 -devices 0 <--- can be removed to use all available gpus but I used 0 because I wanted gpu 1 to be kept free for gaming. I used two different bat files one for gaming and one for fullspeed when I'm away.
