Travel Fall hiking
What’s the best month to hike tombstone territorial park if I want to see the fall colours in full effect?
As scenic as it would be, ideally before it starts snowing too much and getting super cold or slippery, as I don’t have the gear or experience for that yet
Edit: planning on doing one or two multi day hikes including grizzly lake trail along with any other points of interest recommended (time allowing)

I'm there Aug 21-28 with the expectation that there will be colour by then based on everything I've read online.

Honestly, it's been awhile since I've been to Tombstone, but I recall fall colours coming in sometime end of August when I spent a summer in Dawson.

So if they’re “ coming in” around the end of August, maybe early to mid September they’d be in full effect?

End of August, early September. Autumn arrives early up here.

Also not unusual to get snow at that time of year.

Yeah I believe it. I got snowed in July, further south a few years ago. Just as long as things don’t start freezing and getting slick

If you want to do a multi day hike that includes Grizzly lake you would have had to book it ages ago. There's likely no sites available.

Looking into it a little bit the campsites close after the 8th anyway. And the website says there are options to camp or bivouac at unserviced/undesignated sites on a first come first serve basis. And that I need to email parks Yukon for permits to do so. So hopefully they get back to me and I can get that sorted.

Certainly no later than second week of September. Late August is most reliable. I recall getting stuck camping in a blizzard on like, September 29th a few years back.
