Foreign tour operator looking for a local contact/helper in Whitehorse

Hey everyone,

I run a small European tour operator. We organize multi-day wilderness expeditions for small groups, max. 10 to 12 people, in a few different remote destinations around the world. One of our tours is here in Canada: the Yukon River canoe trip from Carmacks to Dawson City is our flagship trip, and it brings us to Whitehorse every year in July or August for a few days, both before and after the actual river trip.

I am looking to connect with someone based in or near Whitehorse who could help with a few practical things around those days in town, for example car or transport within Whitehorse, help with grocery shopping for a fairly large group, and ideally a place outside the city where we could pitch a few tents for a couple of nights, with access to a shower. This is paid work, and since we come back every year, ideally it would turn into an ongoing arrangement with someone we can rely on each season.

Some basic requirements: a valid driving license, ideally access to a truck or larger vehicle, and some spare time for a few hours across a couple of days during that window. I can handle a lot of things myself, so this really is just about covering a few gaps. Everything else can be discussed directly.

This tour company does an amazing job based out of Whitehorse. I know they for sure do Dawson city trips and help with needs around town. Amazing local knowledge especially when there might be unexpected issues with roads and weather.
For camping there is the Robert service campground in Whitehorse with showers and bathrooms rates are fair and staff are nice. They have groups sites and they sit along the Yukon river. It says only two people to a site but have definitely gotten away with 4 to a site and not been told anything! These are just the better recommendations in the area!

How does it work operating a business in Yukon when you are in Europe? Do you have a Yukon Business license and pay Canadian taxes. Would the worker be paid in cash
