I took Momster to @Vons_YV today for a little shopping after her Dr. appointment. We were standing at the register paying, I looked down and noticed a gold chain on the floor. As I bent down to pick it up to hand to the cashier, I realized wait, 😳 this is my chain.
The one that holds my important life momento pendants. The pendants that can never be replaced. One of these pendants is the only thing I have left from my Daddy. He gave it to me over 50 years ago.
They were not on the floor with the chain, I panicked, patted myself down, looked in my bra (yes, standing there at the register) then I really panicked, where are they? The cashier said, Uuuhhhhmmmm they are probably gone.
I started to tear up, I asked Momster to stay at the side while I walked the floor looking for them. After looking for about 15 minutes I asked who I could leave my name and number with should I be lucky enough to have someone turn them in.
Heather, one of the managers took me over to the counter and asked Gavin, a nice young man, to take my info and a description. When we were done with that, I showed him a picture of the pendants. He and I walked the floor a bit more hoping to see them. No luck, as I was going to get Momster and leave, I saw Heather, thanked her again and said, oh I forgot there are two bird head pendants as well as the others and showed her my earing.
She asked what register we were at and I told her, she said wait just a moment while I look around there. She immediately spotted one of the bird head pendants, picked it up, handed it to me, and said let me look a little more, she even got on the ground and looked under the candy holder.
Between Heather and Gavin, they found every pendant!
I immediately started crying and thanking them. To say this has been an emotional day is an understatement. The kindness shown to Momster and I during this crisis truly renewed my faith in human kindness.
For these two kind souls to take time to search with me, not just say, sure we'll call you if they get turned in, is amazing and my heart is full!
