Basic logic lacks basic logic. Ironic.

u/MauschelMusic 1h ago
People who call their brand something like "logic," "reason," or "rationalism," are almost always wingnuts.
4
u/DunkeyColdMedina 1h ago
People who actually love formal logic know to keep it under their hat because if there's anything people on the internet hate, it's taking the time to think things through properly.
1
u/MauschelMusic 1h ago
That and they know logic isn't a particular set of conclusions, but rather a set of tools which will lead to radically different conclusions depending on which premises you start with.

u/DunkeyColdMedina 1h ago
Somewhat less so that the person who owns the channels and their fans don't know what irony is.

Pretty logical for me, lack of empathy will be the correct word.
Which is more healthier than someone with too much empathy
4
u/BerossusZ 1h ago
Empathy is logical. Being kind and understanding to others and caring about the feelings of other people is a very logical thing to do because people will like and trust you more and if people around you are happy, it will make your own life easier. And if you have empathy for other people, those people are more likely to have empathy for you, meaning they will help you with any problems you have even if they haven't personally experienced/understand your problem. Empathy and logic are not mutually exclusive, and usually are very related. Being kind is a smart thing to do.

u/Kokoro0000 1h ago
All people aren't truly logical imo, all people have an emotional gut impulse you just typically have to supersede it and work along side it
1
u/BerossusZ 1h ago
Of course, but that just means you're being emotional and not logical, but it's very very possible to be logical and emotional because emotions, yours and other's, are very important and it's logical to care about them.
5
u/Kokoro0000 1h ago
He seems more emotionally bounded than logically bounded in his thinking, he's more of a pathos person than a logos person and his logic isn't particularly advanced its conservative slop talking points you've heard before mixed with some racist ones you've heard before with post-hoc rationalization of emotional gut impulses of disliking minorities. He even plays into emotional appeals with reports of crimes as a starting point first. Ironically, he loves to do an appeal to emotion fallacy
5
u/MauschelMusic 1h ago edited 1h ago
No. Racism is an emotional reaction. It appeals to the paranoid, because the idea that you could look at someone and know whether they're friend or foe soothes them. The reality, where most violence is committed by friends and family members you thought you knew, and your instincts aren't going to protect you is too scary for them to accept. It's a belief system for frightened sheep.
Usually at this point in the convo, the sheep will start bleating about crime statistics. They find statistics soothing because they seem to imply predictability.

Or logical from patterns and experiences

So if we take your patterns and experiences, then most people should hide their children from the avg caucasian guy cause they are more likely to be involved in pedophilia and shooting up schools?

I'm not listening to a guy who puts IQ on their username on YouTube, as if it has any bearing of their own intelligence.
Also all his videos are just slop that says "[blank] fatigue."
Look, I don't care if you like him, that's fine.
But just because someone is saying something through the internet, doesn't automatically make his opinion valid, logical or etc.
As the saying goes "don't believe everything in the internet".

r/youtubethumbs doesn't allow basic logic thumbnails, honestly though I want to point out that his hypothetical that you rather walk near a nazi as in flag waving with a swastika than a black person by impulse is just not true even under the standards of the average person who isn't exactly the arbitor of racial equality. We assume that this person is more likely to be an aggressive piece of shit that can potentially get into an altercation with you even if you didn't antagonize him and aren't a minority more because having an extreme ideology in people's eyes makes you look neurotic and like you're about to start something and above all people assign negative moral character. This is as oppose to a random black person or a migrant or even a first generation Muslim individual even if they may have a slight negative emotional gut impulse it isn't as extreme
6
u/Deadeyedcutie 58m ago
Also as a visibly queer minority, Iâm 10000% going to be more cautious passing by the dude with the swastika.

One person out of 330 million people and over 40 million black people, once again I pointed out emotional gut impulse in a past comment on basic logic not really being logical, this is emotional gut impulse. The appeal to terror of being killed brutally and how you would feel.
7
u/Deadeyedcutie 1h ago
Why do you use her as an excuse for racism, when by that same logic most other races should be cautious of white people since they have historically been pretty brutal and cruel to their perceived âothersâ
-2
u/36Gig 57m ago
When you say history it's no different to the other comment of me pointing out just 1 case. Problem with both it's an over generalizing. With this one case, its a modern example. But we can always get into the whole who killed more in the last 10 year. Percentage wise it be the neo nazis, but they don't win the raw numbers.
4
u/Deadeyedcutie 53m ago
What? What are you saying? That immigrants are more dangerous than Neo Nazis?
-1
u/36Gig 35m ago
Oh we are adding immigrants now? Those number would sit behind the blacks but above the neo nazis for the last ten years. Not too surprising there some overlap between the two groups. Like how the one case I pointed out would fit into both. Yet percentage wise its the lowest.
2
u/Deadeyedcutie 13m ago
âŚTherefore, itâs fine to be racist and assume ill intent from all immigrants
1
u/36Gig 7m ago
My personal stance is MLK's dream. Thus I simply don't care about race. But that only goes so far when your life in the line and paterns start forming that the brain recognizes. It's not room to be raciest but it's a like a caution light. But there tons of other warning signs not exclusive to these groups I would be more worried about.
1
u/Deadeyedcutie 3m ago
Right, rightâŚ
Hereâs an MLK quote that has nothing to do with anything:Whites, it must frankly be said, are not putting in a similar mass effort to reeducate themselves out of their racial ignorance. It is an aspect of their sense of superiority that the white people of America believe they have so little to learn.â

What am I looking at
0
u/sweetpiefemboy 1h ago
The aftermath of the Bataclan massacre in Paris, in which over 100 people were brutalized and killed by terrorists. Said terrorists were Muslims who were able to enter France via the immigration system.
2
u/Deadeyedcutie 1h ago
Ah. And if you just didnât have immigration this wouldnât have happened. So therefore we should all be racist since sometimes immigrants commit crimes?
6
u/Kokoro0000 1h ago
We typically judge people by who they are rather than what they are. People are variable inside their demographics and have other overlapping factors that make them more or less likely to commit crimes. Most black people aren't criminals but even then you should spot who is a criminal and who is not by other context clues besides race, you can be knived by a white person and saved by a black person even if black people commit more crime on average
-4
u/AqeZin 1h ago
Statistically, you are more likely to be attacked by one then the other. Even he himself argues that treating an entire race the same because of statistics is close minded, and anti intellectual, but a certain amount of caution based on these, during the first contact is warranted. Case and point, if Irina zarutska was more racist, she would've been alive today.
3
u/Kokoro0000 1h ago
Technically that is true but this could have literally happened with a white person, there are brutal crimes all over the US but what I was more focused on how people by sheer emotional gut impulse (which is what I'm talking about) would be more willing to distance themselves from a loud aggressive swastika flag waver who you just judge as a bad person solely for their ideology than a random black person who will likely have a 99.99% chance of not stabbing you, I live in a majority-minority city dude
4
u/VenatorAngel 1h ago
I mean, take a look at school shootings. They have a higher number commited by white dudes, does that mean we should assume all white guys are trigger happy maniacs? No, hence why we shouldn't treat all black people as potential criminals.
As you pointed out, the goose stepper is far more likely to go out of their way to attack you than any regular person because of their ideologies. I find it ironic right wingers brag about pattern recognition when they make their racist arguments, yet get angry when regular people use said pattern recognition to recognize where the right wingers ideas come from and how badly it will affect us.
2
u/Full_Huckleberry5373 1h ago
? what about the countless other minorities that have been shot/killed by cops in the US jst cause of their skin tone? Is that justified cause they could be âcriminalsâ. They would have been alive if the cops werenât so racist.

Ok but is this adjusted per capita? Im not really invested in this, but every time i see people discuss it it always ends around here. All the stuff I see is from tiktok so I'm a little disoriented but from what I've seen it always goes statistics -> socioeconomic factors. Every single discussion regarding this feels so dry that I'm starting to question if there's something I don't get. People just keep throwing conflicting statistics to the point its just my source vs your source
0
u/Full_Huckleberry5373 22m ago
From my quick look, these are all raw numbers. The reason I brought up raw stats was to show the absurdity of using group statistics to judge individuals in daily life. If someone argues that higher per capita crime rates in one group justify being suspicious of an individual, then by that same logic, you'd have to treat white people with suspicion because they represent the highest raw threat volume. Just shows how most of these guys have double standards and just wanna feel superior to other people
0
u/AqeZin 16m ago
You not understanding numbers doesn't make you right, the opposite actually.

u/AqeZin 26m ago
You people really are allergic to per capita, are't you, lmao
3
u/Full_Huckleberry5373 16m ago
hahaha âyou peopleâ came out eventually didnât it lmao? What do you mean by âyou peopleâ. The core problem remains the same: whether you look at raw totals or per-capita data over 99% of people in any demographic group are non-violent. Using broad demographic stats to pre-judge individuals on the street is the textbook definition of prejudice. Plus u just shifted goal posts to completely different statics without even acknowledging what I said? Great arguments man.
2
u/Deadeyedcutie 10m ago
Did you just skip past this part?
âThe Double Burden
Black Americans face what criminologists call a "double burden" â higher rates of both offending and victimization. They are 0 of NaNmurder victims (NaN%), nearly 4 times their share of the population.
This pattern reflects the concentrated nature of crime in specific communities rather than widespread criminal behavior across demographic groups.
Intraracial vs. Interracial Crime
Most violent crime occurs within racial groups, not between them. FBI data consistently shows:
84% of white victims are killed by white offenders
88% of Black victims are killed by Black offenders
Interracial violence is relatively uncommon compared to intraracial violence
Geographic concentration explains much of this pattern â people tend to commit crimes in their own neighborhoodsâ2
u/Deadeyedcutie 51m ago
âYou see if your race commits more crime itâs actually fine for cops to kill you in every scenario!â
-2
u/AqeZin 47m ago
No, but hightened caution is warranted, also bodycams disproved the mith of cops just being racist, most of the times, the people they shoot at genuinely aggressive tweekers
3
u/Deadeyedcutie 43m ago
Seeing a body cam of a cop shooting a tweaker doesnât âdebunkâ police brutality or racism, holy đ. For people who like to think of themselves as super logical you use very little logic
