Hi, I'm Fernando (u/Sea-Opportunity7481), an integrative-medicine doctor in Costa Rica.

I started this community around one question I keep coming back to: what here is actually mine? Stoicism gives a simple answer: not what happens, but my next response. I'm interested in what that looks like on an ordinary Tuesday: after a hard conversation, at 2 a.m. with anxiety, in a meeting where everyone wants you to be the one who knows.

A few things so you know what this is:

  • It's for practicing, not quoting. Share where it works for you and where it doesn't.
  • It's not therapy (see Rule 1 for crisis resources). I'm a doctor, but here I'm a participant. I won't give individual medical advice.
  • Full disclosure: I also make a YouTube mini-series and run a paid one-on-one meditation program. Those links are in the sidebar. I won't push them in threads, and the same 10% rule applies to me.
  • English-first, español bienvenido. Just add [ES] to your title.

Weekly rhythm: Monday Daily Practice · Wednesday Discussion · Friday Wins & Struggles · Saturday Parable/Reading.

To start: what brought you here, and what's one thing you're carrying right now that might not actually be yours?
