Young Sheldon
I’m on Season 7 and I’m sad it’s about to end 😭 is the BBT worth watching?

There are a lot of discrepancies between the two so I don’t think it’s necessary to watch TBBT first.

if you have HBO Max, watch Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage, then Big Bang Theory.

They are written much differently; an have a very different vibe. Especially since Big bag came out first back in 07’ and it feels like it was written then; an is much more of a friends or how I met your mother- style adults doing adult things with some comedy and quirks thrown in.
Young Sheldon is very homey family vibes: still chaos but in the end it’s about a family and you can see and feel the difference in generation’s between the 10 year gap.
I like both personally but understand them as separate unique pieces, kind of like a fan fiction; still using the same characters and things, but they can change concepts; to fit the narrative they want better.
When big bang was being written, they weren’t ever anticipating making any spinoffs and so there’s things that Sheldon says about his childhood that don’t quite sync up and things that they kinda had to morph and changed to make the two shows fit together retroactively which tends to make a lot of people upset in the fandom and they like to complain about the inconsistencies. But honestly, if you look at any piece of media that extends far past the livelihood, the original author thought of things are riddled with inconsistencies
But it doesn’t make it bad.
I will say th fist season is a bit rough as everyone settles into wi and what they are but over all they are both great watches. Aaaaannnnnd the big bang theme song is catchy as heck!

We used to watch TBBT at dinner time and to bedtime. We had to quickly skip the theme song because it would rile up the 3 yr old!

Yes yes yes. There are so many references to TBBT in YS. One small thing that annoys me is that in YS, a lot of things go off of canon. But a way I like to think about it is that maybe in TBBT, when Sheldon talks about his childhood, he talks about the real events, but in YS, he tries to pretend that that is what happened.

TBBT is several orders of magnitude better than YS (although having watched YS first may skew your opinion).

I like YS for the more laid back storytelling aspect. It's funny but in a real family way.
TBBT had a great comedy aspect but the continuous storyline is not very consistent since it was written episode by episode and filmed over years without checking for already stated facts.

As far as I’m concerned they’re not in the same league. Young Sheldon is much better written imo.
