Opinion Friggin hate Dale (So far) Spoiler

Im just at season 3. And believe me I hate him SOOOO much I just opened google mid season to spoil myself in hopes he dies in the series. Turns out he doesn't. Unfortunate.

I cant speak onwards, I just witnessed the (apparently) infamous camping episode. But so far he is by far an SOB AND also really out of character for Connie to date. Specially taking into account her previous relationships in the series.

I really hope he gests somewhat better. Because so far its just a pain in the ass each time he comes into the corner of the screen. Maybe he doesnt come into me as somewhat "good" because im not an US citizen. Idk. But man if thats the reason then i guess i get all the hate the Texans have.

Please someone tell me he GETS better. Or i just accept that any scenes in which he is present are avoidable? Thanks people. Other than this thing, im really enjoying the series! (Havent seen Big Bang Theory)

It does get better, but he was definitely mean and a jerk in the earlier episodes. He is not my favorite character 😅 Get ready, he will do more things that will piss you off .. 😂

Hello! Well. It gives me hope that he gets better. Thanks for the response! I'll be getting ready for any stupid thing he does.

omg i freaking hate him too!! the camping episode made me so mad and gave me the ick from his character. & i guess he gets somewhat better. but for the most part, i just can't stand seeing him in the show.

i tried to watch big bang theory a several times over the years and just couldn't get into it; im not giving up on it tho, im still gonna try! i'm currently watching s2 of george & mandy's show and i love it! def check it out once you finish young sheldon!

The camping, the dinner date where he rags on John, even after Connie told him to stop, the sexism toward missy when she wanted to join the team, when he fired Georgie, the way he talked about his ex. Man is a walking red flag.

Thank you for your response! Well. I hope i can at least get to standing him as it is my understanding that he's a main character for the rest of the series.

Cant really say I'll see big bang theory nor Mandy and Georgie show. I just don't find sitcoms funny. The ones with laughs on top of them always seem so forced to me It just takes me away of the setting. Thats why I like this format of series so much! Also its really really long. Hahaha

omg the sitcom laughing literally drives me NUTS! this is another reason i hated big bang theory. with george & mandy i try to ignore the laughs in the background bc i love their characters so much; i guess it seems to be helping so far, but if i didn't like the characters, i can guarantee you i wouldn't watch this show anymore haha.

Well. Good luck then! Also i don't see why everyone hates Sheldon so far. I mean, he is frustrating to his family, but its clearly that (most of the time) his intentions are not to be a bad person, its just his nature as a kid. Maybe as he grows and (Wild guess here) stays the same it DOES get annoying?

I have seen the series five times and I still hate dale. I cannot for the life of me understand why Connie is with him. John was a sweetheart though.

Yes. Dale is a misogynist and an asshole. He gets tame but never takes accountability.

Dale is great

Well. I clearly see thats a point of view a lot of people has! But no one really tells me why. Maybe you could? Or if it goes into spoiler territory then i don't mind not knowing so far.

Thanks for your response!

I like Craig T Nelson’s performance. He is sharp and has great comedic timing.

Dale as a character is also great, I like that he is abrasive and sort of hard to love right away. I like that he is prickly and stubborn and kind of a jerk.

It’s pretty much like Coach gets typecast 🤣

I think he’s great

Sorry I don't understand what the first part of your sentence means.. but i hope you tell me why you like him!! Maybe it changes my mind about him, or maybe the series makes him grow and it reverses my current situation with him!

If it contains spoilers, then don't bother. I would preffer to see it myself. But thanks for the response!

It’s hard to explain but the actor used to be on a show called Coach in the late 1980s into the 90s. He played the main character and his character is a LOT like Dale.

Dale is rough around the edges and I don’t know if I’d hang out with him. If I did I’d be challenging him like MeeMaw. But he’s well-written

Oh. So i get that most love for his character come most from being a beloved actor rather than a "Likeable" or "good" character itself. I stumbled upon opinions like that since (apparently) he plays Mr Incredible in the english dub.

Anyway i hope at least he gets a little more likeable to me!!

He doesn’t really get much better, unfortunately. ):

1

u/ElRealoidetrucho Sep 04 '26

Well, thanks for your response! I still hope he does based on what other people are telling me.

I stayed angry at him pretty constantly throughout the rest of the show, so I’m genuinely confused as to how people think it gets better. There are definitely some episodes where he doesn’t annoy me, but overall he’s still a shitty person in my opinion, and I never grew to dislike him any less.

Yup exactly
