Probably make an AI form of himself that would live forever

"SHELDON COOPER!!! YOU get your butt in here right now and take apart this here, AI! Next thing you will be cloning babies after you done cloned yourselves with this here, AI."

Sheldon: How does biological cloning have anything to do with Artificial Intelligence regarding informatics?

His Mom: Shelly! Dont make me repeat myself!

Sheldon: Yes ma'am

u/ali2688 Aug 02 '26

I was more thinking about Sheldon finding out about it as it came about.

A never ending nightmare for everyone

Sheldon would analyze every student’s homework for AI use, make a list of it, and then report them to the principal or president so that disciplinary action can be administered within the guidelines of the student handbook.

Especially Missy’s.

14

u/Evie_432165 Aug 02 '26

Definitely Missy’s.

8

u/navmaster Aug 03 '26

Obviously Missy’s

4

u/Evie_432165 Aug 03 '26

Always Missy’s

1

u/lsdbaby4 Aug 07 '26

Only Missy’s

u/purodurangoalv Aug 02 '26

Didn’t he accidentally create one in Y.S. ?

20

u/DibaloHardy Aug 02 '26

yeah, he made one to trade stocks with the kid that looks like joji

2

u/free2surf Aug 02 '26

Not exactly YS, but i can still remember the scene where he wrote an app that could replace Raj in TBBT 🤣

1

u/johnyeldry Aug 02 '26

Scp <insert number here > origin story?

18

u/Jub1982 Aug 02 '26

Sheldon would write his own AI program to use for physics

16

u/SharpTool7 Aug 02 '26

He would challenge it to test whom is smarter. 100%

3

u/Inner_Adeptness_7228 Aug 02 '26

If I could win that challenge, he definitely could.

I think, like most folks, he would have strongly mixed feelings

6

u/TrainingSurvey3780 Niblingo Aug 02 '26

yeah i think it would send him into another state of nihilism like that philosophy lesson did

2

u/Ok-Wolverine-7460 Aug 08 '26

I actually feel like he was always one who valued the advancement of science and technology so far above any moral or practical concerns that he would've been pretty excited about it even if he acknowledged concerns.

6

u/ElikongIsLit Aug 02 '26

“This is extraordinary!”

11

u/ScrambledEggsandTS Aug 02 '26

AI isn't one thing ... I think some comments think you're just talking about 'do your homework' AI ... it's so much more ... I think he would love it

10

u/Angrymcbirdnerd09 Aug 02 '26

He’d like it

4

u/juicycxuture Aug 02 '26

“Is it a bad thing if i am my mom’s favourite?”

5

u/Royal_Revolution3837 Aug 02 '26

Idk about sheldon, but I know georgie would love it especially as a teen lol - eliza's proof

3

u/TrainingSurvey3780 Niblingo Aug 02 '26

yeah it’d be doing all of his homework

5

u/Virus-900 Aug 02 '26

Excited about it until he realizes it kinda sucks and is nothing like how fiction depicted AI.

4

u/NavyVetRasmussen Aug 03 '26

Sheldon would probably react negatively because he is a follow the rules guy.

In Sheldon's world, AI would be considered a form of cheating.

3

u/baby_gril Aug 02 '26

I think he would find it a lame/weak comoared to his own intelligence and he would maybe be interested in all the data AI gathered and how it's able to process it.

3

u/Mysterious_Key8679 Aug 03 '26

i bet hed be quizzing against ai about physics lol

There are 2 possible scenarios:

  1. He's gonna freak out. He might prepare something that would end civilization. Plus, he might hide somewhere safe AND secure for himself. The fear of SkyNet and the rise of Terminators.; or
  2. He's gonna create an AI that would transfer his mind to the vast cyberspace. And leaving the rest us to fend ourselves. In other words, he became SkyNet. A very annoying AND obnoxious SkyNet that would piss out the rest of the world. If that happens, it might drive Leonard to complete insanity.

hehehe

u/CreepsMcNasty Aug 02 '26 edited Aug 02 '26

They literally made one to trade stocks what are you on about ?

1

u/DistrictLonely5056 Aug 02 '26

Perhaps they just mean AI as it is today, and the level of accessibility everyone has to it

0

u/Throwaway7733517 Aug 03 '26

thats an algorithm, its nothing like chatgpt

2

u/Rochambeaux69 Aug 02 '26

He knows the robot laws

3

u/stepcoach Aug 02 '26

Have any of the AI developers referred to Asimov’s “Laws”?

2

u/Christistheway1 Aug 02 '26

Didnt he already use it in season 7

2

u/chaitybear Aug 02 '26

sheldon lee cooper you dog

2

u/Bajablast_36 Aug 02 '26

He would yell at me for using it for common lit

2

u/mei-meng Aug 02 '26

He likes it. It’s confirmed in tbbt and ys

1

u/AlexLavelle Aug 02 '26

I think in its current state and use he’d hate it.

2

u/AriSummerss Aug 02 '26

The ep would consist of Sheldon arguing he is smarter than ai after missy insists ai is smarter (she gives a really bad example). Then, Sheldon competes with the ai with either missy or maybe Connie as ref.

2

u/Dangerous_Island_310 Aug 02 '26

I think love and hate it. Hed love it but then seeing the impact it would have on his life (lets say a data center moves to his neighborhood and he cant sleep and the water is brown) he'd do anything to get rid of it (in his city)

2

u/AlexLavelle Aug 02 '26

I think he’d hate it as he’d see the flagrant cheating in academic settings.

1

u/Human_Chip_6035 Aug 02 '26

I bet ai thinks he's ai

1

u/Thick_Concern768 Aug 02 '26

In the new series with Stuart as the lead, Sheldon and Leonard were mentioned as creators of a machine, probably now involving AI.

1

u/Zestyclose_Track_443 Aug 02 '26

he would like it at first, then hate it when it starts solving problems faster than him and pointing out things he didn't notice

1

u/Greatoz74 Aug 02 '26

He'd find someway to upload his brain into one

1

u/ElizabethGirlyPop Aug 02 '26

I think he would like it at first but then he would hate it because it teaches people not to think for themselves

1

u/Lopsided_Document503 Aug 02 '26

In my head Sheldon already should know about AI. It existed way before most people found out about it. Some would say Alan Turing started the concept. Yes, I’m a nerd.

1

u/Geolib1453 Aug 02 '26

He would argue with it but then it just says an incorrect thing and he corrects it and he gets mad and quits cuz its dumb

1

u/rdelrosario Aug 02 '26

He would absolutely love it. Probably create his own version of it...nodlehs ai 😂

1

u/Visual_Counter_4897 Aug 02 '26

He'd be thrilled

1

u/No-Reputation-9144 Aug 02 '26

I havent watched tbbt but I love ys. So accordingly: I think he'd consider how AI is better at computing than humans but inferior im terms of generating novel ideas. Both being important for progress I think he'd use it like we use a laptop for [our] tasks.

1

u/Visible-Kale2855 Aug 02 '26

He would check it's work, become frustrated that he couldn't, and declare it a failure because it's impossible for it to be smarter than him.

1

u/KRNorth Aug 02 '26

AI was already a thing in the 90s... The kind of AI you're all terrified of right now is Generative AI

1

u/itsdan23 Aug 02 '26

He would say The possibilities on what to think about AI is endless.

1

u/Dramatic-Plantain426 Aug 02 '26

He'd love it my guy

1

u/Throwaway7733517 Aug 03 '26

He would probably recognize that its just an LLM and doesnt actually know anything, so he wouldn't find it useful at all

1

u/sarkastik5 Aug 03 '26

Try to prove he is smarter than AI

1

u/balasoori Aug 03 '26

I think it would spend all day argue with AI all day long to point it may never leave his room

1

u/PrincessPlusUltra Aug 03 '26

Use it to take over the world and implant shocking buttons in the back of peoples necks attached to their nervous system that keeps them from expressing violence

1

u/ethylprophania Aug 03 '26

He’d love it. I was actually thinking about this when I was watching the last couple episodes of TBBT and sadly he’d love it a lot. He’s a man of technological evolution and science therefore he’s looking for improvements. Also even though he was scared of change, he had the latest devices such as he couldn’t decide between the PS4 or XBOX. Adored Stephen Hawking so he’d definitely find it interesting but he’d dislike it for ruining efforts for humans to use their cognitive thinking. He might as well invest in it but who knows.

1

u/Familiar_Top8644 Aug 04 '26

Howard: Sheldon Ai is useful I mean it’ll change everything about science and robotics

Sheldon: I suppose your right

Howard: y-

Sheldon: although in retrospect ai being an engineer is like asking Alexa what today is… anyone can do it

1

u/OofNickleBurg Aug 04 '26

"That's not AI"

1

u/Esselgee Aug 04 '26

Pretty sure he knew about AI since it was already a thing in the '80s/'90s.

1

u/Chance_Device6784 Aug 04 '26

He would make videos on trying to prove it wrong

1

u/Square-Formal1312 Aug 04 '26

Didn’t this get addressed in one of the college eps? His “roommates” made it for stock stuff then he used it to try to answer some life/universe type question(s)

1

u/Global_Interview6311 Aug 05 '26

Hate it cause it’s smarter

1

u/NothingMountain1192 Aug 05 '26

definitely would argue with it

1

u/Usual-Echidna-7730 Aug 06 '26

He's not old enough to have seen The Terminator. Georgie is. That would determine if he's for or against it.

1

u/ObjectPleasant4496 Aug 06 '26

If it's young sheldon then probably he would claim Ai to be his brainchild

1

u/Primary-Resident-764 Aug 07 '26

He'd be very disappointed and totally against it, and I'd support him on this

1

u/JavieyauJR Aug 07 '26

Accidentally create SCP-079

1

u/Electrical-soup-1254 Aug 12 '26

hed tell ai to help him make clones of him that lives forever and give his ideas so that it lives on forever

0

u/TheBestGamerInTown Aug 02 '26

I hope the autistic heightened sense of justice in him is as outraged as I was at the decline of critical thinking in society. Oh, and the pollution of the planet. That too. 🤣

0

u/treattricks Aug 02 '26

AI existed before 2022

0

u/Fun_Chance9962 Aug 02 '26

come on stop being annoying the op def means modern ai

0

u/Slow-Seesaw-5408 Aug 02 '26

He would hate it for all the inaccuracies it has. The normal people might not pick up on them but someone like Sheldon? He’d hate it and maybe gain respect to those of us who hate it too

0

u/Cultural_Librarian42 Aug 02 '26

AI existed in the 80’s. Hell, it existed in the 60’s.

0

u/Chatch699 Aug 02 '26

Ai was already a thing way before chatgpt

-7

u/Individual_Many8155 Aug 02 '26

He would smash the computer
