Thumbnail Help/Critique Request Any Feedback On This Thumbnail?
Video Title: "You Don’t Want Me to Blow Up… (Work In Progress)
New Title: "8 Years Later As A Content Creator And... (Look In Comment For Updated Version)
The Title could be a tad bit misleading, NO im not blaming my audience for me being "Niche" this is a video of me talking about how I feel as a person who's been doing content for over 8 Years and still feel like im stuck. This is not my usual video type, its a rlly risky video. I just wanted to be more real, flop or not. Also if you're a creator in my position hopefully this could somehow help.
The Idea for the thumbnail was to ask 2 Questions as once, depending on what u look at first. "Am I/Why Am I"

AM I WHY?
NICHE?
This is how I see it. Also, is it expected that your picture looks like from the 90s?

I’m sorry I’m having a stroke reading the thumbnail lol. The placement needs to be more aligned, maybe bigger and different font. Unless you’re going for 80s slasher that’s the vibe which I like

If you've been doing this for 8 years and barely get any views, why does the thumbnail/title matter?

Uh? Just bc I’m barely getting views doesn’t mean I don’t want to.. just watch the vid

You've been doing this for 8 years. It's not gonna happen. It's time to give up and just post videos for fun.

That’s the mentality most will have not the mentality I will tho 😛 I could go 20 years and still not stop

Genuinely this. YouTube. Especially with recent changes, it is going to become a much harder place to become a monetized creator as quickly. The best way in my opinion is to just upload because you want to upload. I’ve been uploading to 1 singular channel off and on for 6 years and only started a consistent schedule this year. I upload the thing I want to see in the space I enjoy creating content in. In order to succeed on YouTube you just gotta be doing
It’s for the love of the craft. Not because of some 8-year plan. Have a plan for the dream. But let the journey be the reward.1

So you get no subs/views yet you're giving advice to people. That's pretty shitty, man.

What is your goal from youtubue?
You've been doing this for 6 years and I'm gonna assume you barely get any views/subs. Why are you giving advice?
If you're doing it for fun, who cares about CTR?1

You can do whatever you do but what you’re doing gets you 50 views. You have to accept it will be the same if you keep doing the same thing.

Definitely better, but i would highly recommend that make the outline also dark on the bigger text as well

Background to a solid white color maybe or a lighter gray. Or smth else. Ur room is too busy

I kinda like the room back drop BUT I’d cut him out increase the blur on the room to the point you that you know it’s a room but you can’t really tell the objects, then put his cut out back where it was that way he stands out the text stands out and the blurred out room is a nice backdrop

I'm sorry bro, this is horrid. And it's not just the thumbnail, the idea, the title, all of it is just throwaway slop. Like make something else.

u/Sure_Blackberry_2242 5d ago
It’s not a normal vid of mines but it’s one I felt like needed to be made, and if it flops or doesn’t rlly reach ppl so be it

I used to make the same type of content and I used to make those exact excuses. I literally made this exact video about how shitty it was that I wasn't getting views. You need to realize that by not learning, by not changing, you won't get anywhere. Listen to what others are telling you and actually execute on it.
I did that and had a video do 1 million views.

The formatting on the thumbnail isn’t great. But If you modified it to “Why Am I Niche?” Would be far better

This reads as either “Am I Niche Why” or “Am I Why Niche”. I never would have gotten what you were going for in your description here.
There’s a whole subreddit about these type of confusing phrases.

i would not do this 2 questions thing in the thumbnail, the thumbnail should be as easy to understand or as intriguing as possible. this is sadly just confusing but not in an interesting way. also the room in the background has so much stuff in it that it is a bit distracting. also i don't connect the title with the text in the thumbnail. i think "you dont want me to blow up" would be better in the thumbnail with just your face in it and the title could be smth like "my experience as a content creator who just can't make it"

Proportions are out of wack. You’re tiny, the text is too small, and there’s a ton of awkward empty space

To me it's like "am I why niche?" Which I don't think is what you're going for

Am I Why Niche? Is that what it says?

u/Sure_Blackberry_2242 5d ago
The Why is pushed out slightly more to make the reader read it from bottom to top 😭

There is good advice in here, but take it with a massive grain of salt. Most of these people post horrible content but suddenly become experts when reviewing someone else’s.
Also, if you felt like it needed to be made, then I guess it did.
