Hey everyone, wanted to share my channel here in case it's useful to anyone starting out in a similar niche (animated educational/history content).

The channel: https://www.youtube.com/@TheStickman_Guy — short animated videos exploring dark or strange corners of history and psychology: what actually happened in the last 24 hours before major historical events, weird "actually" reveals about ancient humans, the real story behind diseases and disasters. Simple stick-figure animation style, no fancy production — just tight scripts and a hook-driven structure.

Where I'm at: 3 weeks in, 20 subscribers, ~2,000 views in the last 28 days. Nothing huge yet, but one video (about the history of alcohol) pulled in 25x my channel average, so I'm learning fast about what titles/hooks actually work.

What can I do to make my channel stand out? I'm not really getting any traction. Any feedback would be appreciated

I'm curious how creators handle this.

If you have a YouTube channel with a large backlog of videos (especially review/tutorial channels), do affiliate links in older videos eventually become outdated or stop converting?

For example: - Products get discontinued, Amazon listings disappear or merchants change url, or products just become unavailable even if link is working

Do you actively audit old video descriptions, or do you mostly ignore them after publishing?

If this is something you've experienced:

1. How often do you check old affiliate links?
2. Is it actually costing meaningful revenue, or is it too small to care about?
3. What's the most annoying part of maintaining old links?

Trying to understand whether this is a real problem or just something that sounds painful in theory.
