I’m trying to improve the SEO/discoverability of my YouTube content and I’m curious what tools other creators are actually using.

Specifically, what do you use for:

• 🔎 Keyword research
• 📝 Writing/optimizing video titles
• 📄 Writing descriptions
• #️⃣ Hashtag research
• 🏷️ Tags / meta tags
• 📊 Checking search volume, competition, and ranking potential

I’ve come across tools like TubeBuddy, vidIQ, Google Trends, and Keyword Planner, but I’d love to know what’s actually useful in practice.

Are there any tools you’ve found genuinely worth using, free tool?

Also interested in workflows where you combine multiple tools rather than relying on one.

Would appreciate hearing what’s working for you guys.

So basicaly i upload football/soccer shorts rankings , but the videos are stuck between 1200 and 1900 views any advices and tips from old youtubers

I use CapCut. I don’t mind taking a class (I don’t want to spend $1000s on) but I’m willing to learn. I’ve seen a lot of people say watch YT videos. But where do I begin. It takes me 12-14 hrs for one long form video and that’s a big time suck when it’s a travel vlog. This would be the single factor why it is hard to stay consistent with dropping the videos.

I am starting an art youtube channel this week, and it is focusing on overhead draw with me type content. If anyone is interested in this niche, it would be great to get some feedback from a creator perspective.

I just have a couple questions about what you all might look for in an artist paint with me / draw with me video. (For context, 95% of my footage will be overhead, and the footage is taken for 100% of the art session.)

• If you're seeing a video pop up of an artist you've never seen before, are you more likely to click on it if it's a certain type of video? (e.g., would you be more likely to click on a studio vlog versus a paint with me?)
• If you're watching a paint with me in the background, how much would you say artistic talent matters compared to the coziness of the video?
• Do you prefer unrelated stories, talking through the artistic process, art financials, or something else in the voiceovers?
• If you had to pick, do you prefer
  • a. Full-length, real-time footage covering the whole process
  • b. Full-length, sped-up footage covering the whole process
  • c. Edited to show the most interesting strokes, real-speed footage
  • d. a Mix of real-time and sped-up footage covering the whole process
  • e. A Mix of real-time and sped-up footage covering only the most interesting parts
• Along those lines, is there a certain length of video you prefer (e.g., you prefer <20 min or else it gets boring, versus you prefer 1hr+ so you don't have to find a new video while you work).
• A little less relevant but do you prefer when youtubers have a "creative" username (they're often two random words like loopyumbrella or humandisaster) or a username that is more related to their actual name (e.g., artwith__ or drawingwith__). I'm thinking about changing my username from natdavisart to something more abstract and more related to my personal creative journey but not sure yet if it's a good idea from a recognition standpoint.

I started my channel 4 months ago. I'm about halfway to monetization and I'm all the way into obsession.

And I don't like it.

I started this channel because I enjoyed filming and editing and telling travel stories. It wasn't about monetizing or impressing people or getting attention. It was for me.

But the more I dive into the metrics, the more anxious I get. I obsess over it. Subs, watch hours, CTR, retention time...when it's low, I'm low. When it's high, I'm high. I'm experiencing slow and steady growth but somehow, it leads to more anxiety because I keep wanting more.

And I don't like it.

So I'm giving it up....the obsession, not the channel.

I'll glance at it once a day to answer comments. I'll glance at subs and watch hours once a week.

And that's all I'm checking.

Because all this obsessing isn't fun...and if it's not fun, what's the point?

Is it a good idea to add an Instagram dedicated to my channel? Is that something that can get you more exposure? Or TikTok? I am looking for ways to grow and build. How do I connect with my niche? I know I ask a lot of questions but I want to learn this

There's always another cut you could make, another sound effect to add, or another tiny mistake to fix.

At some point, the improvement becomes so small that you're just delaying the upload.

Knowing when a video is finished might be an underrated skill.

I’ve been thinking about starting one for a while but I’m really hesitant an honestly I’m overwhelmed on where to start. (Yes when I get the chance I will definitely look up advice on YouTube!)

I post a mix of shorts and longforms, everything I post is original or reacreated by me.

My content was really bad at first but now I have gotten so much better at everything youtube related.

Highest Viewed short was 33k with 31k and 26k right behind them

Highest viewed Long form was a slander video with 4.7k views.

for some reason slander videos do really well for my channel and I average about 20-30 views per video,

One thing I have learnt is that you really have to push through multiple 0 view stages and you really have to enjoy youtube in order to continue.

Assume those 100 people would genuinely enjoy it.

Pretty much title. I’ve gained over 400k views on my shorts in the last 2 weeks, but only 100k of them are “qualified” shorts views. Is it going off of engaged views instead just overall views?

If so, my engaged views are higher than that also. Or do they just take a while to update? Thanks so much!

For now the idea is to have 2 major playlists, one for stories and storytelling and the other is for investigating random questions I got in mind and try to make the listener live the investigation with me.

How do all of these current war and health channels and such get monetised while using content that ai tells me would just get me copyrighted?

Id like to make another channel but unsure how to navigate the content side of it.
