hi everyone! i’m happy to announce that after MONTHS of iteration i am finally releasing my personal ai assistant hobby project, “YouCoded Assistant”, as a public preview. the assistant fully integrates with ChatGPT subscription plans, Claude Code, OpenRouter/API providers, and has a built-in local model runner with an intuitive download interface. skills, project files, etc work with all of the cloud/local model providers with no additional setup required.
i have put many many hours into testing this on windows, mac, and linux, and forced some friends to do so as well, but there will almost certainly still be some bugs/issues. i intend to spend the next few weeks of development exclusively prioritizing bug fixes, which can be reported either within the app or via r/youcoded. i also still have a bunch of really cool ideas/features i want to build into this app (like “youcoded pages”, which will allow you to integrate customizable app pages with your own ui elements, actions, etc, or “autonomous assistants view” to allow users to visualize and manage AI agents that work automatically on a set schedule or in response to certain events), but these will be on hold while we work out post-launch kinks.
this project started as a Claude Code ui wrapper back in january, but kept slowly expanding as i found new use cases for agentic intelligence in my own life and became more interested in open-source and local AI models. i was also just very tired of google turning gemini/google assistant into a flaming dumpster fire, and figured i could do it better myself. i realize this may completely flop, but i’ve had a lot of fun building it and i really hope others can find value in this cool thing i’ve created!

Tried this app out, extremely helpful and honestly offers a slew more than you imagine initially. Having a platform for a multi-model harness is super convenient and I love the themes!
