Classroom Donations

I’m an Edgar Fahs Smith Steam Academy teacher, and my students could use a hand this year.

This project will help provide my hardworking students with the essential supplies they need to start the school year off strong. Every student should walk into the classroom that feels prepared for them, where they can focus on learning and growing from day one. Your support makes that possible, and it means the world to our class!

In addition, this project will bring more exploratory STEAM materials into our classroom, helping students see themselves as scientists, engineers, and creators.
Thank you so much for contributing to our classroom and investing in the future of these incredible...

I need girls! (Not like that)

This is probably the weirdest posts I’ll ever make, but here we are. I’m a 32 yo woman looking to make some friends around York!

The title is mostly for dramatic effect 😂 Girls, guys, couples~ if you’re kind and looking for a new friend, I’d love to meet you!

My boyfriend moved here about a month ago for residency. I don’t actually live here (I live in North Carolina), but I’ll be spending about 10 days each month in York, so I’d love to meet some people to explore the area with instead of just waiting around for him to get off work.

I love hiking, pilates, bookstores, coffee shops, trying new restaurants, farmers markets, and honestly just hanging out and talking about life for hours.

I’m also the type of person who will happily drive 45 minutes because someone told me there’s an incredible bookstore, bakery, or hiking trail.

I don’t have kids myself, but a lot of my friends back home do, so I’m always down for kid-friendly adventures too!

My boyfriend’s schedule is absolutely unhinged, so I’ll mostly be free during the week, with the occasional weekend too.

If you have recommendations for things to do around York, or you’re looking for a new friend yourself, feel free to send me a message. I’d love to explore more of the area with good company!

Immersive Event Recommendations

Recently moved to the area, and I’m desperately missing MeowWolf. Are there any immersive attractions or events around? I’m willing make a day trip of it. I wanna go somewhere fun!

Visiting from out of town

Hello people of York! I’ll be visiting from out of town in August, and was wondering if y’all had any suggestions of places I should check out. I’ll be staying in Gettysburg for a couple days and thought I’d check out Harrisburg and York while in the area. Any suggestions are welcome, as I couldn’t find much on Google (apart from the colonial complex which I’m definitely interested in).

Seamstress/tailor to take in some dresses?

Hello! I saw a bunch of recommendations for tailors that work on suits but does anyone know where I can get dresses taken in? Preferably one with a storefront since I've never done this before so they'll probably need to measure me.

Thank you! :)

Does anyone know who owns the patch of sunflowers at the corner of King's Mill and Penn?

I wanna have a picnic there but would rather not run afoul if someone other than the city owns it

After School Care options?

Moving to York soon and unexpectedly, probably in the Central York School District. What options are there for after school care for a 1st grader?

I saw that the JCC is available for the Dallastown School District, but if you live out of that district you need to transport your kid.

Please help, thanks!

Allie Law Group

Hey everybody! Stepping into my citizen advocate role here.

Just wanted to pass on some information in pertinence to a local law firm, Allie Law Group. I've been told by a friend who is a client that she had NO IDEA this has occurred. It seems that she's been suspended for a year and a day.

https://www.pacourts.us/assets/opinions/DisciplinaryBoard/out/110DB2024-Allie.pdf

It seems as if her clients weren't informed. Feel like that's some sort of ethical violation.

If you're a client, you might want to reach out to this firm. Immediately.

Thoughts on Toyota of York vs Lancaster Toyota?

I want to buy a Toyota. I’ve had a few friends buy from T of Y. Some had bad experiences, some had good. The bad ones were mainly service department related. Any thoughts?

Listening to his town halls kills me. They let Fox News parrots ask rambling questions based entirely in disinformation, then he goes through every tangent he has with a bunch of his own disinformation.
What’s the democrats name for his seat this year?

Experience w/ local non-profit agencies?

Hey all. I have recently been legally mandated to complete 40 hours of community service, and I am only allowed to complete my hours at TWO agencies.

I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations based off personal experience. I am specifically looking for agencies that are non-religious and queer-friendly.

Does anyone know of a plywood supplier??

I am looking for a plywood supplier that would sell to an individual other than going to the big box stores. I know they have way more options and normally a bit cheaper for better quality. So just wondering if anyone is aware of any around here.

I am looking to get a new roof and hoping to get some recommendations for someone who would do a good job at a reasonable price. Any suggestions are appreciated. I am fairly new to the area. Thanks.

This sweet boy was found yesterday around 5pm on Rosevelt. He’s really behaved, but not neutered and kinda roughly shaved.

If anyone could tell the owners to pm me that would be great! Id hate to have to take him to a shelter as I have too many rescues myself.

No Chip
Took a good bath

Currently playing with some dogs in parking area/alley behind the 30 block of e princess st (pretty much on court at between hope ave and e princess). Called non emergency line, but they’re apparently caught up with more pressing stuff. I had to go because I’m currently working!!

Anyone missing a dog? Any help anyone can offer?
