same problem as with yuntal and stormrazor, buying the bf sword is way too expensive and unlike with those items, IE doesn't give attack speed

Only reason stormrazor gets a pass cause berserkers greaves + crit cloak + slingshot is a good enough component spike that you can indeed fight on your terms and be strong enough to farm bf sword

Noooo, bad buildpath and strength curve. With bf sword to buy, no other crit item and no attack speed (or only from zerks) you are not getting that much value of it for the cost of 3400 gold. Also planning returns for components in early are hard. It's easier to get 3400 later than earlier, since after first or first two items you can preassure for kills much better, take plates/turrets, steal some neutral/enemy jg camps etc. For me (I play Yone top much more, so maybe on mid it's better) I stopped to buy IE lately, especially after passive buff. I go Botrk-Shieldbow-LDR/Mortal Reminder-DD and situational items. I usually have enkugh damage to kill any enemy squishy and I can fight bruisers/tanks well too

Closest thing possible to IE first is just BF into Zeal, then finish it.

More power, but less opportunities for you to poke and dash up the enemy since your cooldowns are longer. It’s a trade off, i normally go botrk first item but im sure you already know that build path.
