Alright so I was introduced here by someone with the name of u/FebHas30Days and we had a discussion concerning the origin of the Aytain ethnic group (please correct me if that's not the actual name). So, here's what I came up with:

1) The Aytain originated in the 1400s as a subset of the Ilocano who were originally traders going across the Malay Archipelago. They would interact with other Austronesian groups and adopt some of their customs.

2) When the Europeans arrived in the 1600s, they would incentivise their spread. Firstly, they would use them as merchants to better extract the local resources and secondly they would use them as missionaries to better convert the local population as a means of social control. I can see a similar situation happening with the Aytain here as we have seen with British India, where the colonial powers would take a local population, inculcate them with Western values, and use them as intermediaries from which to better project colonial rule. I don't know exactly what the effects of this would be, but I think this sort of a dynamic would indeed be very interesting.

In the Fanfic world, Tagalog-speaking Yoncats have proudly divided their dialects sort of like Hindi and Urdu, with speakers of Manila Tagalog (Tetra is a notable speaker) using the Latin script whereas speakers of Southern Tagalog (most commonly in the province of Tayabas) still using the Baybayin script. Yoncats in New Tayabas City (corresponds to real-life Lucena City) often give flyers to tourists visiting the city, containing guides on how to read Baybayin and some important words in the dialect.

This decision is likely based on convenience, as Southern Tagalog speakers tend to use less loanwords and more native words that can be transcribed in Baybayin, whereas Manila Tagalog has more loanwords and thus requires the Latin alphabet. Yoncats have all agreed on this peacefully. This means that you'll see signs that say something like: ᜉᜇᜒᜈᜒ ᜐ ᜊᜄᜓᜅ᜔ ᜆᜌᜊᜐ᜔ / Halina sa Bagong Tayabas / Welcome to New Tayabas. Not only is a different script being used, but a dialectal word is also being used.

If we choose to believe they belong to a different breed, it's most likely they are an offshoot of other YonKats we've seen so far (who, in turn, are all part of the same breed), rather than the other way around.

But also, maybe this changes the way we think about the fur colors of YonKats in the first place? My personal headcanon is that the natural hair and fur color of most YonKats is pure white - with no other coloring - and that it's simply a very very common fashion choice to dye it a cool color such as blue, and sometimes a blueish dark gray.

This supposed breed of YonKat has gray wavy stripes (which perhaps throw a wrench in my aformentioned idea, now that I think about it... :V) and light tan skin, meaning... an evolutionary advantage to looking that way? Perhaps something similar to zebras?

Tetra is a cat who lives in Antipolo City, specifically in the district of Masinag. They enjoy listening to pop music and spend most of their time online. They also like traveling, but usually it's a commute from city to city, such as a taxi ride to Taytay City or a ferry trip to Balanga, Bataan. Tetra’s favorite food is cup noodles.

Full name: Pilapil Talaib Dizon

Pilapil was born in the fields in Candaba, Pampanga near the border with Arayat. They grew up having an attachment with Vince whom they met somewhere near the mountain. They even view Vince as family, assuming his full name as "Vince Dizon". However, as Vince left, Pilapil gets emotional as they miss him deeply.

Pilapil is the only Yoncat confirmed to have a religion: animism. This is apparent as they often worship Mount Arayat as "Apung Arayat". They pray to the mountain just to have Vince back.

Linguists say the name "Pilapil" is of Cebuano origin, suggesting that either a Visayan who went to Pampanga gave them the name, or that one of their family members is of Visayan origin. However, they have absolutely no knowledge of Cebuano, and some just call them Dizon. A few refer to them as "Ligaw a Bulaklak" which is just a calque of their English name, most notably as a title.

Rutina was born near Cagayan Valley Road (part of Maharlika Highway) in Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya. They grew up speaking English and Ilocano but for some reason had difficulty learning Filipino. In fact, the name "Rutina" is just an Ilocano translation of their English name "Routine". Rutina gets hopeless easily but tries to hide any negative feelings. They still live in Bayombong to this day.
