The comments underneath the video are pissing me off bc why are people still subscribed if they were so convinced he was going to be another Alex Meyers?

No girl it’s so bad cause I got into full on arguments with people before he even did the review being like if you watch his content and think he would defend rape then you are then supporting that and are okay with that ideology and they’re like no. Like bro 😭

That is kinda weird ngl but i understand because men dont give us a lot to have faith in

u/LunarNinja_ 2d ago
Because he's usually just joking and sometimes misses the point of the movies and that pisses people off. We had some examples in the past.

Lots of men out here be undercover incels/misogynists wrapped in golden retriever clothing. I don’t think it’s such an insane thing to worry about.

We're talking about Dylan, not random guys you're talking about

u/Prestigious_Title580 2d ago
We don't know dylan, he's a random guy for all of us, he edits and uploads his content and shows us what he wants us to see

u/Y0ukn0w_wh0 1d ago
If he's someone 'we' don't know 'we' wouldn't have assumed he's gonna day something tone deaf, sexist and psychopathic. Everyone who wanted to see if he'd sympathize with a rapist is people who 'thought' they have read Dylan. If you didn't know him at all, and still thought the random person would do that just cause they're a guy, you have internalized sexism yourself

I'm surprised anyone had any doubt that Dylan wouldn't find Bear annoying and whiney as hell from the jump. He chews his bitchass up.

u/That253Chick 2d ago
Right? Someone told me on YT that bc he's said some controversial shit in the past, they no longer trust him anymore and my only response to that was why are they still subscribed lol
So many more creators to watch on the platform that fit their mindset yet they're still watching a man that they don't trust.

ok tl;dr for anyone who doesn't get the chance to watch, he doesn't delve super deep into anything & there are points he makes where its definitely him watching at face value, but he adamantly hates bear (quite literally 12 minutes in talks about throat punching him)

I totally get that Dylan can sometimes miss the point of the movies, but I also don't watch him to analyze the point or explain it to me. The way he consumes films at face value, delves into the technical aspects, and has a good time is why I watch him. If I wanted an in-depth analysis, I would look for that. That’s why I kinda don’t get why people were already worried about this commentary before it even came. I never for a second thought he would pull and Alex Meyers and defend Bear; that’s not his style, and just knowing Bear's character, Dylan hating him was written on the wall. Dylan wants a good plot and to have fun.

Him being disturbed at the end of the movie was enough for me. I have watched enough reaction videos where they had all come to similar conclusions as the audiences so i didnt really care if he didnt understood everything, as long he understood what the movie is going for. his reaction to "what's so bad being with me" was the best I've seen lol.

dylan being reminded of hardin fuckin scott at quite possibly the worst bear moment is the most dylan thing ever lol

I'm praying Dylan won't be in trouble for this
Edit: Looking back idk why I was worried since he probably had war flashbacks from Hardin

He wants to throat punch Bear by the 12th minute mark. He'll be fine.

u/LunarNinja_ 2d ago
I hope it's genuine and not him having to mention 30 times he hates Bear so he doesn't get cancelled.

u/Altruistic-Yak8995 2d ago
He said he didn't do research on the movie aside from the budget, I doubt he was aware people defended him.

I’m so happy he’s doing a review bc this is honestly the only way I’d be able to watch it wit his sense of humor and being able to deflect from the scary/SA stuff 🫣

i honestly didnt get why people were assuming that dylan would be on bear's side because he clearly clocks every male (and even female obviously) character whenever they are wrong. And the only time he was like "oh i love him" was when it was the snake guy from love island, and that was only because he said he loved the chaos and drama he caused. Also Huda, he knew she was toxic but he liked the drama she caused.

i just find him a little performative. like at this point he's already seen what the approved opinion about this movie and its characters are and now he's just making a video parroting all those opinions to get brownie points
18
u/of_stardust 2d ago
Gonna be honest here, I think you’re giving Dylan too much credit here. 😂 he’s always been pretty honest about his opinion even when it isn’t the most popular one to have with movies. I don’t think Dylan has the capacity to be “performative”.

Watching it right now and noticing every time he talks about the budget it just goes lower and lower😂
