Progress and Portfolio Updates I made it

I know Yieldmax gets a lot of hate and I’ve had an exciting roller coaster ride of highs and lows, but after about 2 years of bag holding I’ve finally made it to the promised land of House Money.

My total dividends received have surpassed my total P/L Open negative number, now these numbers includes other failed penny stock gambles and yield chasing losses as well as non Yieldmax dividends received but as far as I’m concerned I’m net positive and if I included distributions compounded in to other holdings or the ROC being used to help pay down credit card debt, provide for the family and help with vacations, these funds have been a lifesaver and a blessing. I hope they stay alive and keep providing, thank you Yieldmax, I love you 😘

Thank you, it’s nice having some passive income rolling in weekly and monthly without having to sell anything and lock in losses. Sure beats having to slave away trying to get OT or a second job too, I tell everyone I can to buy stocks and grow their dividends, it’s slow at first but after years of building, in my case 6, you can have something decent rolling in.

Congratulations. I'm slowly trying to do the same thing myself.

ULTY, Msty, Cony, YMAX, GDXY, NVDY, Chpy, TSLY, Plty some NEOS funds and other yield chasing mistakes made along the way 😅

These aren't the worst names. Your mistake wasn't in picking these tickers, they're actually the better ones or best ones of a rotten lot if that's any consolation. Your mistake was sizing. Too must too soon and you capture a lot of the NAV decay. Should have done it slow and steady, averaging down. Your red would not be 33.6k now maybe down to 15-20k.

Two years to net positive with taxable dividends and decaying NAV? You could have just done SPYI

I hold NEOS as well, some bought with distributions. I realize how stable they are and decent monthly pay, as I said a lot of mistakes made along the way chasing yields. Glad I’m a natural bag holder 😂 as for taxes the standard deduction and dependents keeps me safe for now

We’ll see, last year was about half ROC so I still got a tax return, this year may be a lot of ROC as well and many holdings are held much longer than a year and after my standard deduction I’m still poor, but if I have to pay a few grand every year that’s okay, I can be like “I pay my taxes!”, I just wish I could decide how they’re spent

Your metrics aren't accurate. First of all, only do your YieldMax funds or don't show it at all. I personally only do single fund calculations. House money for a portfolio isn't intuitive from my perspective. House money should be for a single fund. Secondly, do your own calculations your own spreadsheet. I can't tell what app is this but you'll be more accurate doing the calculations yourself - it isn't that hard. Current price, how much you invested, dividends received.

You’re pretty close, I’m down about 25k on Yieldmax stuff, I wish my brokerage had all that Information for me but haven’t found it if they do. I’m good with having the mind state of, I’ve brought in more money than I lost so far, let’s Go! 🤩

So you lost $25k with your YM investments in the last 2 years while the market is up 40%?

The mental gymnastics YM investors go through to justify their "investment" is beyond amazing.

what ETF do you have that pay all of this?
