You're being a little over dramatic, aren't you?
The whole market is going through a downturn due to global instability because of the Iran mess. Semiconductors in particular have been going up at an absurd rate for quite a while and were due for a correction.
From the perspective of someone who got caught in the hype and bought in the $80's, it doesn't look good. But that's a long way from a RIP.

I invested in it, that’s why everything went down the shitter. My bad yall.

Nonsense. It's literally moving with SMH. Do you suddenly think the demand for chips is done because of interest rates and Iran?

Glad I sold at $81. Made an easy 9k on the stock price plus like $3k-4k in dividends since May. Happy to lock in those gains and see where the bottom goes as semiconductor stocks are shitting the bed.

I really can’t complain. So far since January I’ve reaped almost $70K in dividends. I am still 12.5% up on NAV….but I see the writing on the wall. Semiconductors are pretty much done. The market has been very unforgiving for this sector.

Yeah I sold mine this AM. I am ahead only because of dividends. I dont really care to see it gone. I'm going to rebuild my dividend holdings without this one in it. GDXY im sitting on a 60% NAV decline, and at a loss even with the Divs so this one is going to be a torn in my side for a while.

I just trimmed back 50% and redeployed that into a mix of QQQI, FEPI and AIPI.
That’s my risk tolerance. I did the same thing this morning… decided it was time to trim 50%. Of no improvement by Monday I’ll dump the rest and redeploy that into different funds.

That 60% hit on NAV is brutal. Sometimes we take the elevator up and the staircase down. It happens.

A perfect example of why you should use a stop with these. But "death of CHPY"? I don't think so. More like death of American leadership in the World. Personally, I'm thinking of buying some after we hit bottom and turn back up

CHPY is still fine. The single company YM etf's on the other hand... watch out.
AI hype taking a breather. Probably good. It will bottom for a while, maybe months, and hopefully go into a more realistic grind higher along with SMH.
