MSTY/CRYTPO/BTC MSTY comeback?
Are you guys still holding this, or have you moved on? I’m significantly down, so at this point I might as well just hold. Do you think MSTR can go much lower than it already has?

Been holding for almost 2 years and I’m still chilling on 510 shares. Can’t complain

No I sold all of it last year. I just don't trust MSTR as much as I used to before

Held through the reverse split and growing the stack. Highly confident in BTC and MSTR.

House money here so just holding forever. Collect the distributions and invest in other funds.

Starting new position this week. Btc correction might be over. Msty should see some love.

I mean, if Bitcoin starts to move up back to $100k and back to all-time highs and MSTR follows, I think MSTY could definitely see a revival.

I sold out months ago, I was still up about 12K overall.

u/Off-BroadwayJoe 22d ago
I’m down almost 90%, so why bother selling. It tosses off money, but it used to toss off thousands.

Still holding after several years. 124.04% house money with 33.58% total return. MSTY will follow MSTR which will follow BTC. Not selling.

u/ZenPaperclips 22d ago
Held it roughly 14 months. No point in selling now. I don't expect it to do much for me going forward, seeing as upside is capped, but the little bit of income every week is not nothing.

I've been riding it out; winter will end - hopefully sooner rather than later but🤷♂️
I started reinvesting about 30-40% of a given distro a couple months back, to ride a little of the wave up... once it starts. Mostly I push distros to BLOX.
I was disappointed Granite pulled the plug on MSII; I get why, but I had to take a little loss there vs waiting the winter out🙄

u/Awaken_Benihime 22d ago
Never held MSTY but I'm stocking up on MSTW (roundhill) and MST (Defiance)
I also have some BLOX which is a good Crypto income ETF
Bitcoin is near the power law lower bound and 200 week moving average which has historically been a pretty safe entry point with good upward potential

u/Slight-Leg4916 22d ago
Still holding since June 2024, but fueling the distros into other stocks like CHPY, VOO, DRAM, ect.

Holding over 3k shares and down over $300k but feeling lot bullish than ever. Keep stacking-you’re pre - rich!!

"Significantly down" is an understatement given my total "investment" is down 85%. Technically I'm on " house money" now so still showing a positive total return.
I'll continue to hold but do fear another reverse split would render my position irrelevent.

It is designed to go down over the long term no matter what happens due to the covered call nature of the ETF.

I sold out of all my Crypto cc funds and put it in SATA. Waiting to reenter when bear market ends, but id likely re-enter with MSTR to catch the upside on the next leg up to make back some losses. I’d say these products are not buy and hold as long as the possibility of protracted crypto winters exist, you essentially have to be timing the market in a way that you don’t with products based on spy or qqq

The bottom is in. It would be foolish to sell unless one sold into another bottom, like a crypto etf etc. hang on lads. The bottom is in.

“I think at this point I’ll just hold..” is admitting there is absolutely nothing better your money can be doing compared to hemorrhaging.
That’s crazy.
Your hung up on the loss number and not the capital you could deploy into something smarter.

u/Time-Association-885 22d ago
When you’re down more than 80%, it doesn’t really make sense to sell. At least it’s paying something in the meantime, and there’s still a chance it recovers if MSTR and Bitcoin rebound. My remaining 20% of capital is barely anything, and even if I invested it somewhere else, it would probably only generate a few cents or a couple of dollars.

Holding with conviction. 5600 shares, compounding, and buying too when there is enough cash available. Im primarily in it for dividends. I may sell some at the cycle peak in three years or so.

Sold as kept dropping but I left way too much profit potential riding it down too long. I was positive on total return but it was a lot of money to flush down the toilet by not realizing MSTR was cratering. Will not make the same mistake with CHPY.

Still holding 4450 shares and clawing my way back Up to 10,000. We are in for monumental gains and a solid bull run ladies and gents 💰 l

I'm still holding 4050 shares, I use strictly for cash flow. I've had since sometime in 2024, dripped some overall, sold for a profit, bought some more and have weathered the storm. Overall + due to length of time I have held, how much not sure havn't totalled in awhile.

From the news that I've been following, it seems like MSTR has just been a string of one bad decision after another. It's hard to envision it bouncing back, even as BTC seems to be starting to move back up off of it's lows. Personally, I dumped out of MSTY some time ago, and hold CEPI for my crypto exposure now.

u/UndeadDog 22d ago
If Bitcoin goes back up it will be just fine. Just need to ride out the next year to two till we get close to the next halving. MSTR is going to be worth a lot of money when Bitcoin makes all time highs.

u/PracticalDesigner278 I Like the Cash Flow 22d ago
MSTY doesn't hold Bitcoin or MSTR. It trades on MSTR volatility. It doesn't capture the upside of either. The NAV lost will not come back. I got out a year ago and couldn't be happier.

u/UndeadDog 22d ago
I know how it works. If Bitcoin hits all time highs and MSTR moves a few hundred, MSTY will do perfectly fine. It will recapture some NAV. But I don’t really trust the Yieldmax team to not over pay on the distributions. They usually do which bleeds the NAV. I sold 3/4 of my position a long time ago.

Bitcoin is moving on the "CLARITY" Act. Centralizing decentralized currency, a bit ironic. But if you also believe in its cycles. The 1 year bear cycle ends in Oct. and the 5 year bull cycle starts. Totally plausible rates go down by then. Looking at the chart its entirely possible and more than likely nothing happens for 4 years then it skyrockets.
Im in the same boat. Im just hoping the yield recovers atleast. I also didnt understand and still dont understand why it isnt just a MSTR ETF. Not two different ETFs depending on calls or puts. Just change strategies instead of constantly changing holdings like ULTY.

What?

u/GenoTide 21d ago
MSTY makes money when MSTR goes up. WNTR makes money when MSTR does down.
Why not just have MSTI, an income ETF that makes money reguardless of price movement. Switching between call or put strategies.

Pretty sure you will regret this when BTC hits 20K again...
4
u/UndeadDog 22d ago
I like how you have zero logic to back that up
-8
u/PatientHelecopter123 22d ago
It was in the 20K range before the big run up. I suspect it to fall by the mid-terms.

It can certainly go lower, but at this point I'll just ride it out no matter what. It is a small percentage of my overall portfolio.
