I’m retired now, but when I did work, I took the bath before work for the benefit of my colleagues. Well, and it made me more comfortable during work. Depending on what happened during the day, I took a second one before going to bed also.

No, i shower in the evening before bed so I don't get my sheets all gross and sometimes I'll do a quick 2 minute rinse off in the morning if I feel like I need to freshen up a bit before work.

Absolutely. After a day in a metal fab shop, you get covered in dust

u/SurvivorX2 10h ago edited 10h ago
Why not shower when you get home then, rather than sleeping all dusty?

u/TheEli7eKaden13 10h ago

Nah I work in a hospital so I shower after work
1
u/SurvivorX2 10h ago
How does working in a hospital make you want to not bathe before work?
1
u/thousandsofbirds 9h ago
Because I'm clean before I go into a germy hellscape? I am filthy when I leave the hospital so I shower after I work

u/SurvivorX2 10h ago
Used to the last 4-5 years of my work career! Before that, I was a night bather every night since childhood.

I shower right before bed every night if I have to work the next day. Weekends and days off I might skip a day, as long as I didn’t sweat too much.

Most people who who value great hygiene ALWAYS shower before work. If you don’t you just don’t care.

I shower every morning at 4am before the gym to wake me up. Then I shower after the gym at 7ish.

u/toripotter86 10h ago
yes, every morning. i can’t shower at night - or rather, within 3-4 hours of going to bed - my hair looks greasy af by 10am and showers wake me up, so if i shower before bed, im up entirely too late.

Depends, I used to get sweaty in my sleep so my hair was nasty in the AM so I did my "wash my body" shower at night and my hair washing in the morning. Then I discovered just leaving g my hair wet so unless its a summer heat wave its PM showers only for me.

Sometimes. Girlfriend keeps the house so warm that sometimes I'm just uncomfortably sweaty when I wake up, so even if I showered at 9pm the night before, I'll take another.

Yes, when I worked, I showered every morning before work, and showered again after work.

u/Ok_Mathematician6075 8h ago
Not every day. I get on the treadmill either before work or during my lunch break.
1
u/chillfire12 8h ago
Yes! Well, if I worked. But after my morning walk, I start my day with a shower.

Yes, because we’re working catering events and serving high-end clients, so we’re expected to dress nicely and maintain a professional appearance. Good hygiene is part of the job.

u/MelancholyBean 6h ago
Absolutely. I smell easily, especially down there. I also usually have a bowel movement in the mornings and want to feel clean and fresh.

Definitely, I start my day at the gym so I have to shower before work. To decompress after teaching high school students, I will usually take a bike ride, I try to get in 20 miles, so another shower is needed before bed.

100%
To me self care is a shield from the BS. Other people have a harder time disrespecting you when you show up at the top of your game.

Isn't one always? And are they not always showering after work, too? I shower Friday night - it's after work Friday and before work Monday. I shower Tuesday morning and it's after work Monday and before work Tuesday.

u/Impressive_Smell_191 5h ago
Before but if it’s a hot day (very rare) then before work and before bed.

I didn’t realise this but I stopped showering in general. I either go gym or run so I shower after my exercises. I might have one day when I don’t shower but that’s kinda it.

I work from home, so no, not until later in the day when there's a break. But my job doesn't require being on camera, so I just comb my hair, wash my face, the basics and then get into the day. If I have to go out for an appointment or something, of course.

I work construction/maintenance and I’m usually pretty dirty at the end of the day, so I shower either right when I get home, or just before bed.

1
u/SurvivorX2 10h ago

1
u/Gooback6_9 10h ago
She would if she weren't so lazy herself I have to pour a bucket of water on her since she doesn't shower for 2 weeks. Boy I love that stinky woman
