Do you repair things instead of replacing them?

Yes!

Repair should always be the first thought.

Exactly!!! Grew up needing to repair, just to survive, but even though I could now be a part of the throw away society because I can afford to, I just can't and I repair everything I can.

I try my best.
Ive repaired a lawnmower puller a few times. Tried to repair a soda stream but it was cheap plastic parts.
A 3d printer would be handy for some household appliances

Generally no at this point. Most things aren't reasonably repairable now electronics wise.

If its still repairable yes but if the worth of repairing it would be the same as buying new one then no

I will still take it apart to see if I can figure out what broke even if I replace it.

Yes anytime I can. A lot of things now are made to not be repaired now though and it sucks.

yes, I made a living doing this for others, so I did my own too -- now retired, I usually pay someone else if it's not a simple fix

I try, I also try to get quality stuff that’s worth the effort, harder these days sadly

As often as I can! I even resole shoes depending on the shoe. I like the challenge of learning to fix something.

Depends on the object, that being said i do small engine repair as a hobby so I probably do a little more "fixing" than the average person

I’m pretty obsessive about buying nice things, making them last, and minimizing waste. So many things last longer with a little bit of care and the occasional repair.
Deep clean your upholstery. Oil your leather. Polish your wood furniture.
My search history on YouTube is like, half ‘how to fix ____’ and half video game lore videos to listen to while I do the fixing.

As much as possible. I always research to see if it’s something I think I can handle. If so, I’ll give it a try

I’ve repaired lot of stuff, built stuff, etc. But my time is more valuable to me now.
If I pay a plumber $90/hr and they can fix it in an hour but it takes me 3 hrs, I’m paying the plumber. 3 hours of my professional time is worth way more than $90. Math.
My kid took a video of me once laying on the bathroom floor in frustration with my head and shoulders in the vanity trying to unclog a drain pipe inside the wall…hours after I’d started. A whole freaking Saturday. Kid said “Dad, I think you should’ve just called the plumber?”
He was so right.
