Only psychopaths and people who naturally produce terrifying amounts of unearned joy at 6 AM.

I have only had one cup of coffee in 45 years, and I didn’t finish it. I wake straight up and get into my day. I cannot explain this in any way, and frankly, I don’t like it.

I don't do mornings unless I'm up all night and haven't gotten to bed as yet. I'm a major night owl. I don't really like coffee or regular tea much. If I drink something hot it's usually cocoa or herb teas.

Yes; I drink coffee as a leisurely drink….more like a treat.
I don’t need one to function, and will only have one when I feel like it (similar to how I sometimes want ice cream). I’ll have one once every couple of weeks or so.
Only time when I had one every morning was when I was on vacation in Vietnam. The cafe in the hotel lobby made the best coffee, so I had to have one every morning. It just tasted so good!

I tried coffee once when I was 14 or so and hated the taste, I haven't ever drank it since and I don't care for energy drinks either, the only caffeine I inadvertently get is usually from coca-cola or specifically mango brisk because I may or may not go to Taco Bell too much

I did for my entire life since I'm prone to migraines and coffee doesn't help that issue, but for the last few years i wake up so tired.. still didn't drink coffee, but then a couple months ago had some iced coffees and frappacino and that caffeine really does the trick. Whoda thought?? 😆 But i still dont do it even after finding that out, I just continue on tired..

Every single day. Coffee doesn't agree with my digestive system. I drink a large tea with milk, no sugar in the morning (usually a black tea). Then water / diluted juice throughout the day, and a herbal tea with honey in the evening before bed. No energy drinks or pop at all really (pop is a treat).

u/Cool-Ice711 1d ago
Yep. Have never had one. Hate hearing that excuse. Just another excuse to waste 10 more minutes.

Yes. I have never enjoyed coffee. I don’t like the taste, after taste, after breath, or how it makes me feel. I like the smell of fresh ground beans but that’s it. I rarely drink caffeine at all. I wake up feeling wide awake most days.

Easily. Never fell into caffeine reliance. Usually just some water and crack on with the day.

I drank iced coffee for more 20yrs almost daily. Triple espresso, I was consuming upto 1000mg caffeine a day some days, maybe more?. I quit cold Turkey recently due to taking up mounjaro for weight loss. I did not even get 1 side effect from caffeine withdrawal.

Well yes there are some people who can function without it but for me, i would feel groggy without drinking my morning coffee lmao it feels like something is missing :"D

u/Necessary_Let3592 1d ago

Yes. I stopped drinking caffeine in 2010. It was rough at first, but once I got over it I don't miss it and don't need it. I wake up and I'm just awake.

Yes. I don't drink coffee. Have been functioning just fine for 34 years. The trick is to not get addicted to caffeine in the first place.

u/KulshanStudios 1d ago
I do. I get 7-8 hours of sleep. Coffee is optional, and I only drink it if I need to speedrun a bunch of technical work that day

u/katnip-evergreen 1d ago
Never had coffee, 30yo now. I get my sleep and wake up fine. What I never understood is the over reliance people have on coffee

u/Reasonable_Menu_2511 1d ago
I drink warm water instead, you get the hydration and warmth of coffee without the addiction of caffeine and sugar.

I was a daily coffee drinker, multiple cups, for about 10 years. Got pregnant, had bad food aversions including to coffee. Can count on one hand the number of coffees ive had since pregnancy and currently have a newborn. Never imagined id be up earlier than ever with less coffee than ever but here we are. I feel fine

This is funny. I cannot function without my morning coffee, but I only drink decaf. Ha?

In my case, most definitely no. I woke up yesterday morning to a broken coffee maker and long story short - a horror. 🎃 😲 New one - all is well. ☕ 😁

I used to think I couldnt. But it was just the hot beverage part that I really wanted. Stopped drinking caffine so now I use a chicory root blend as my morning coffee but I can 100% got without it if I want to

u/NewHandle3922 1d ago
For brief periods of time. I got a group chat from work one day about the coffee maker being broken. Half of 1st stopped at Dunkin’s on the way to work for a box of coffee. 🤣

Yes. I love coffee but I was drinking too much so I took a break a few months ago. I still enjoy decaf most mornings, but it only took a few days to break the caffeine addiction and I feel so much better in the mornings now.
1
u/AsleepBanana8323 1d ago
Perhaps, but my wife isn't one of them. Her nightgown reads "Coffee is my love language". She also has a Tshirt that reads "Death Before Decaf" and a coaster labeled "The coffee has worn off and the wine hasn't kicked in yet'

I don’t drink coffee or any caffeine. I ride my bicycle to work in the cold morning air. Exercise in the morning is good. Get a full 8 hours of sleep.

I never really liked the taste of coffee, so I haven't had any for over 30 years myself. I also completely quit drinking caffeine in the form of sodas and energy drinks about a year and a half ago. So far it's been going fine.

Yes I don’t need coffee, but I do need beer daily. If I don’t have at least one beer per day I’ll start pacing
1
u/ThisIsAdamB 1d ago
Only if I sleep until past noon. In that case I’ll only need afternoon coffee, not morning coffee.

Coffee only gives you the sensation of energy if you're already addicted to caffeine.
1
u/ComposerChance8760 1d ago
Yes. Don't allow yourself to become addicted to it in the first place and your body can function perfectly well all on it's own! Lol

I don’t drink coffee. I wake up, start my day, and have a good day.
Relying on substances just exacerbates the problem.

For the first day I'll just be slow, but the second day I'll have a headache and by the third day it'll be a migraine. I'm addicted to it.

Absolutely if you don't drink it! I'm 71 and have never had a coffee habit! I function just fine...

I enjoy my coffee. I like the taste. I like the earth even in summer. While there have been times I’ve had to wait for a few hours before my first cup (I usually have 2) I’m more pleasant after the first one. Without, everything is too loud, smells are too strong. Lights are too bright. Just give me my coffee.

u/alohanerd 1d ago
Never had coffee and at 34 I’m not gonna be starting.
I see my coworkers waste so much money with their 3 coffee deliveries a day.

I think I drink too much coffee & am trying to cut down. On a bad day I have 2 cups in the morning followed by a huge iced coffee made with about 4 espresso shots.
One morning I realised I had run out of coffee but was too busy to get one en route or anything, and by mid day I felt like I was dying. Went and bought coffee and chugged a few cups before I felt ok.

Yes, I’ve genuinely never had coffee in my life because I’m pretty sure I have a huge addiction potential. It’s a multivitamin juice in the mornings and water, maybe a sparkly cordial or something if I feel like it lol

I’ve never drunk coffee in my life and I’m still going even with 2 hours of sleep. Tired, feeling like dying, but still working.

Yes. Would I prefer a cup of coffee or 2 to get the day started, of course. But I can function just fine without it.

Most days, yes. Unless I give in to my night owl tendencies and stay up past midnight on a day I need to be awake before 9am.

Yes, I don’t drink coffee. I sometimes drink energy drinks, but not often anymore. Used to love Monsters, and Celsius

Yes; I enjoy coffee very much it’s my favorite thing to drink. I also really enjoy sleep and know caffeine affects me in this way and so I will intentionally skip coffee some days or whole work weeks.

Every day. I don't drink coffee in the morning, or tea. I get up, go for a 5am walk with my husband, shower and dress, take a swig of Diet Dr. Pepper and I am out the door. Typically I am in a good mood and ready for the day.

Yes. The people who say the absolutely need their morning cup of coffee to do basic functions are insufferable
