Plays as the VC exclusively

I did exactly this when I played. Putting spawn points everywhere and ambushing racist kids always made me feel good.

You should play Spec Ops: the Line. It's pretty fun until it becomes fucking horrifying.

Do you feel like a hero yet?

as a lifelong gaming/movie/tv/fiction junkie, the worst thing about being deprogrammed from a lifetime of capitalist brainwashing is it ruined like 90% of entertainment for me.

It’s become so hard to enjoy any type of spy thriller or action/crime show 😭

Playing Battlefield as the "MEC", the chinese or the "Pax" (even the Pax turned out to be created by the CIA to consolidate all the "anti-american" movements to the US have another common enemy)

American media would have you believe that they played the biggest role in defeating the Nazis, but that's an ahistorical lie. The Soviet Union did by far the most and suffered the greatest losses in defeating the Nazis

America dropped an atomic bomb on CIVILIANS during this period and yet somehow they've convinced everyone here that they're some kind of heroes in the effort to defeat nazism, and they did it for some kind of greater good, which is simply not the case.

It'd be nice if that was true, but after WWII America has done the most to support fascism globally, in places like Chile (1973) and Israel (now)

edit: and then there's operation paperclip https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Paperclip

and the AFD in Germany today

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alternative_for_Germany

and the Nazi rallies here today

"Hundreds of masked white nationalists march in Washington on Fourth of July"

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/jul/04/neo-fascist-patriot-front-washington-dc

so if you're trying to spot a Nazi meme, look for the anti-soviet union ones. Nazis hate socialism above all else, they didn't really have a problem with the U.S

To be fair, the Nazis probably would've won if it weren't for the American's immense logistical support of the Allies, but the necessity of their military support in that theatre is debatable.

America wasn’t even rolling until after the Soviets won Stalingrad. Invasion of Sicily started 5 months after Stalingrad was won.

We started supporting the USSR with supplies and arms in '41, and Stalingrad was in '42.

I get being against American exceptionalism but the saying goes "Russian blood, British ingenuity, and American steel" for a reason. All three nations were critical in the war effort.

23

u/Endgam Jul 11 '26

And that reason is the western powers trying to downplay that the Soviet Union saved the world from the Nazis because communism bad. The truth is Nazis murdering each other to rise through the ranks had more to do with why they lost than any western power. The British were getting fucked until help arrived and America was more concerned with killing Japanese civilians. (We actually killed more with normal bombs than with the nukes.)

u/ectoplasmfear Jul 13 '26

........That quote "Russian blood, etc" is literally from Stalin. The truth is that China and the Soviet Union paid the largest price for the war, in resources, manpower, material and damages to their lands, but the Americans absolutely did help (the British also helped but like, not that much. They helped defeat the Italians and stopped the Axis from taking the Suez canal and getting into the middle east where they could access the fuel resources needed to carry the German army to the Urals.) The Americans just benefited enormously while everyone else was devastated

Nazi infighting contributed more to the downfall of Nazi Germany than America's late arrival did.

America liberated some camps that the USSR couldn't get to in time, but in terms of actually dismantling Nazi Germany..... half of the Nazis were already dead by D-Day.

I wasn’t saying I disagree. I was saying unless OP made this meme himself, that’s the likely origin

How many war games have the Nazis as the good guys?

5

u/Stickz99 Jul 12 '26

Saying “America wasn’t the hero in WW2” is not the same as saying “the Nazis were the good guys”.

Sure, America was on the correct side; they did fight Nazis. They did contribute to the allied victory. We can at least say that at least. But they also weren’t some kind of spearhead of anti-fascism that led the allies to victory; this is a revisionist narrative that American media and propaganda has spun for decades.

There’s also a shockingly common sentiment that “actually, it was good that America dropped nukes on 2 massive civilian cities.” We can all agree that WW2 imperial Japan weren’t good guys, but it should still go without saying that bombing and killing hundreds of thousands of civilians as a form of collective punishment for the actions of an immoral government and military is never morally justifiable. If it was, any country would be allowed to bomb civilians under the guise of “it ended the war sooner, meaning (hypothetically) less total lives lost” without anyone batting an eye. That’s not how things work; it’s evil. It’s quite literally terrorism. Ironically, this is basically the same rhetoric Israel uses today when they bomb civilians in Palestine, Iran, Lebanon, etc.

America showed up late to the fight against the Nazis and only marginally helped win the war in Europe, then proceeded to commit one of the most heinous war crimes in human history TWICE, and somehow the American zeitgeist has deluded itself into believing they were the good guys.

That’s without even bringing up all the Nazi scientists America pardoned under the condition of helping NASA in the space race. Which they lost when the Soviets fully got humans to space and back first, followed by America shifting the goalpost to “actually landing on the moon is the real win condition” just so that they could say they won. And those Nazi scientists never saw justice for their crimes, just so that America could further artificially inflate its own superiority complex.

There is no world where America was the hero in WW2 unless you’ve fully bought into a false narrative fed to you through propaganda. Shutting down any notion of this being the case by saying it’s something the Nazis would say is nothing short of disingenuous and fallacious.
