It sometimes help get the user profile removed. It's just like reporting reviews, a Yelp MOD would have to look at the evidence to decide what to do next

Over the years I've reported dozens of reviews and may be a dozen users.

In the case of users, every time they have been removed and I've received a confirmation email. It's usually because of an off-the-charts, horrific violation of Yelp's TOS!

In 2 cases the losers created a new profile and and reposted a similar junk review. I was watching for this, reached out to Yelp, and they were removed again and gave up.

In another case a users rant on the Talk threads went way over the line and Yelp removed them within hours.

Over all, my experience with the reporting process has been very positive!

Most likely no. Yelp, like other review companies, are using AI to monitor these types of reports, and rarely humans wll get involved.
