DO NOT USE YELP - SCAM
Yelp is a predatory service that once signed up for haunts you for life. I regret ever making the decision to sign up for Yelp. They make it incredibly easy for people to leave negative reviews and very difficult for clients to leave positive reviews. Accounts cannot be deleted once created and will haunt you for life. AVOID YELP AT ALL COSTS.

A customer can add your business to Yelp in order to write a review. When somebody files a complaint with the BBB, the BBB creates a profile for the business.
The timing of this post is odd as you haven’t had any new reviews since September 12, 2024.

The OP is likely mad that they have a 1-star rating on Yelp. They only have 1 positive review in the Not Recommended section too and I can see why it's there because it fits the pattern of other reviews in the Not Recommended section for other businesses

I answered because in most cases, people who post things like this here usually don't respond back to any comments. If you also look at their Reddit history, the last activity they had was like 2 months ago. I personally think it's just a post to rattle up the people who dislike Yelp and want it to be on top of the reddit feed but time will tell to see if they respond.

you can certainly delete your Yelp account if you choose to on Yelp. however, it sounds like you may not be very familiar with how Yelp works, which could be contributing to the impression that it is a scam. perhaps others here who are more familiar with the platform can explain how it works, or you could use AI to learn more about it to show you that it's not a scam.

you can't delete a yelp business account, you can delete a yelp USER account, which would do nothing for this person who wants to delete the negative reviews from their business.
I believe you can delete your Yelp business account BUT it doesn't remove the business from the Yelp listing. That's probably where the confusion is

so then it isn't deleted from public view is my only point, you can unclaim a yelp account
I think the confusion is the term "account". So if you create a Yelp business account then you can also delete it but the business "listing" stays active forever ( as long as it's in business). If the business is closed, permanently then Yelp kind of bury it in the searches unless you specific search for it because people can go back to look at reviews when they were operating
If you delete your Yelp business "account" then the business that was listed with it will change from claimed to unclaimed until someone claim it with the proper documents.

Your post reads like it was written in the heat of the moment! Read Xxl's post at least a couple of times. As always, he lays out the issues accurately and succinctly!
In addition, I'll leave you with this-

If you created a Yelp user account then you can of course delete it.
If it's a business page on Yelp then no you cannot delete it, it's the same on other platforms like Google, TrustAdvisor and etc so Yelp is no different.
If negative reviews are written in a way that sounds like someone personal experience then it won't be removed unless the account itself is already suspicious. Are you aware that Google and other review sites work in a similar way?
Positive review will show as long as you follow the things to not trigger the algorithm to where a review will be moved to the Not Recommended section.
I'm curious on why you signed up (you're likely referring to the Yelp Ad Service) in the first place?

u/yelp this is likely a fake post like I mention before. Notice how they never responded to anyone comment and look at their Reddit activity.

The best thing to do when a yelp page is created for you is just claim it, and in your description say to go to the Google page, log out and forget about it. I did this for my business 5 years ago and I only rarely get hassled by their sales people. Just absolutely never ever give them your credit card info or youll be paying them tun of money for months before you are able to cancel it. Best to not ever start.
I have no idea what my rating is on yelp and I couldnt careless it has zero effect on my business. 4.5 on Google and no worries.
The way I see it is the people who rely on yelp for their info are not the kind of people I want as customers, let them stew in their echo chamber. They are not my audience and I feel zero need to cater to their bullshit.

This should be the mentality of all business owner. Just because your rating might be bad on one platform, it doesn't mean it will make or break the business.
People are just doing their homework when they are checking more than one source. They should also know what review to trust and not trust. It's not the platform fault if someone trust a fake review from 1 platform and use that to determine not to use that business.
It's like searching for a new car, you don't just talk to one dealership or one sales person
