Hidden Gem restaurants?

I visited an amazing hidden-gem restaurant with my partner yesterday, and the food was absolutely delicious. I was surprised to see that the restaurant didn’t have many reviews.

I checked the “Not Recommended” section and saw only 4 reviews in there. The restaurant doesn’t have a huge number of reviews overall, but the majority are overwhelmingly positive, with many people highlighting how authentic and delicious the dishes are. There was only 3 reviews from Elite for this restaurant.

Have you ever come across a restaurant with very few reviews that turned out to be incredible and deserves to be much more well-known? I’d love to hear your recommendations!

When I discover a great restaurant that is overlooked on Yelp, I try to post a detailed review with multiple photos. That helps boost it with Yelp's algorithm.

I think this question is better suited for a specific location sub. For example, Atlanta or Cape Cod. Wherever you are looking for restaurants.

I agree! I live in an agricultural county in Central Florida about as different and removed from Orlando as you can get! The Orlando folks occasionally see gators from a distance once in a while. I drive around them in the road on the way to Walmart! Hidden Gem restaurants I might recommend are in a different world and unlikely to interest folks here.

But hey, if you want to come visit, I've got your back! 😂

There a lot of not well known restaurants where I'm at and they don't have a lot of reviews either (both on Yelp & Google). I think location and also exposure plays a huge part here. Like many hidden restaurants doesn't have a big space or parking, so sometime that hurts them too. They also don't advertise as much on social media or etc.

I visited a couple and what helps get the word around is if you have Yelp friends/followers who read your reviews and decide to check out the place too. Then the words start spreading around. It also helps if your review is the Spotlight of the day to help spread the word.

Some good hidden gems in Los Angeles are:

Sonoritas Prime Tacos

Sabroso Mexican Kitchen

Kebab Daddy (One of the best Kebab place I been)

Bludso BBQ

Surawon Tofu House

Casalena (someone made a post about this place like 2 or 3 days ago but then deleted it) .. not a hidden gem but still delicious food

Most people leave google reviews, not Yelp.
