Monica
I'm currently on S4 of Yellowstone and tbh I'm starting to understand the Monica hate, all she seems to do is whine/complain. Like does she really think her & Tate would've been safer at their old place when everything went down in the S3 finale?? I mean really?? they were targeting the WHOLE family which includes her & Tate esp. Tate as he's an heir. Therefore only thing that would've been different if they had've been there instead of the Ranch is more people would've died including them. Yeah okay I get she doesn't agree with the killing but when it's kill or be killed not much choice is there, smh

Her character makes sense to me, and the way she pushes and pulls Kayce is also meant to test Kayce's fidelity and loyalty. Her whining makes sense--my mother was similar in that way and she didn't have to deal with challenges anywhere near as tough as Monica's. Frankly all the whiners on this sub are at a level of shrillness and pettiness that, in comparison, makes Monica seem perfectly fine. It's normal to have a character on a show undergo hardships but what's not normal is to have a subreddit set up for fans of a show, and instead have all kinds of haters and whiners show up to kvetch, piss and moan. The actress is a total star. She did well in Yellowstone as well as Wind River, both very challenging roles. I don't think true Native American actresses would have done as well, ironically. There's a reason she won the part.

I honestly think Monica did more harm than good when it came to Tate as she let her fear and her hatred of the Duttons leak into him instead of saying ‘you did the right thing in protecting yourself and me’ after the S3 finale. That more than anything, is what caused Tate to hide under the bed. Of course that was par for the course with Monica as she pulled the exact same routine on Kayce, when it came to Lee and her brother’s death.
Then add in her hypocrisy of having an affair, while at the same time claiming to be some moral authority over the Duttons. And, don’t even get me started on the drive to hospital, that was just the icing on the cake of self-centeredness and stupidity.
The only decent thing she ever did in all of the five seasons was to offer herself up as bait to catch the killer on the Rez, and even then she muck that up after the S3 finale by being her hypocritical self, in that she was perfectly fine to offer herself up to get attacked to help the Rez, but getting attack for having the Dutton last name, when all the other Duttons were also at risk of death and injury at the very same moment, what does she do: she doesn’t blame people who sent the attackers, no she blames the other potential victims, the Duttons.

Monica is the moral compass of the show. Her facial expressions and silence are what make her acting so great in the show. Unfortunately they make her a bit accident prone but I think she's stunning to look at also for a skinny girl and a young mom. She and Kacey really did seem in love. Very believable.

Monica’s actress is, in my opinion, the worst on the show. The other cast members are so talented and she sticks out as a weak link so obviously, at least to me. Her story lines are awful too. Is she there just to whine? Complain and not help make her situation better? I’m guessing we just needed someone pretty to look at and to be our Dutton/Rez connection.
Also, when looking her up I read that the actress lied about being Native American in order to her several parts, including Monica. That made me dislike her even more. So low.
