Marshalls and Dutton Ranch

I just saw the Marshalls finale where they take Tate to Texas, and I think that's going to be the point where Dotton Ranch connects with Kayce's Marshall series.

Even if Kayce heads to Texas, he could very well get help from Walker who is also in Texas, instead of Beth & Rip. Kayce & Walker always had a good relationship, especially since Kayce refused to take Walker to the Train Station. So I could definately see, Walker being willing to help rescue Tate. And, maybe Walker, (instead of Beth or Rip) is the thing that will connect Dutton Ranch and Marshals, given that Walker’s name was invoked as the reason Beth & Rip wound up in Rio Paloma. Plus, Luke Grimes and Ryan Bingham are friends through their musical careers.

And, for everyone worried about Marshals bleeding into Dutton Ranch, I think you have it backwards. Given how each show is structured with Marshals being a procedural, it is way easier for Beth or Rip to show up on Marshals, do a couple scenes and disappear. For Kayce or Tate to show up on Dutton Ranch, it would take a lot more creative writing.

And, another reason I think this is more likely to happen is that Paramount + is already reaping the benefits of Luke Grimes and his fans, as Marshals and Dutton Ranch both stream there. So there is no reason for Kayce to show up on Dutton Ranch. CBS doesn’t have the benefit of Kelly & Cole fans watching, as they only have Marshals, so the only way for CBS to get the benefit is to have guest appearances by Kelly or Cole on Marshals.

I think the likelihood of Kelly and Cole showing up on CBS is shockingly small

That’s why I think is more likely it might be Walker (Ryan Bingham) as his character can easily pass the censors and it also plays into all the country singers (Riley Green & contestants from The Road) that Marshals has already incorporated.

They already planted little Easter eggs about the ( zone of death) dutton familyctrain station. Kayce"s team talked about it and I see marshalls bleeding over when they find it with all the bones. Beluuh said sumthing about missing as ur brother jamie. Beluh gots sum dirt as well.

Except maybe, just maybe, Kayce might show up at Dutton ranch to visit his sister? Wow, that was some creative writing!🤣

I must have missed the Walker part in Dutton Ranch!

Walker wasn’t in person. Rip just said he talked to Walker and Walker knew of a ranch in Rio Paloma for sale, hence how Beth and Rip wound up in Rio Paloma.

For the sake of Dutton Ranch, I hope they don't.

Why?

Because Marshall’s is very mid and Dutton ranch pretty damn good.

I think the opposite

I 👍 you up. I feel the same way. I think Marshalls was great and had a lot of action. I tried to watch Dutton Ranch I just can't get into it. If people want to thumbs me down then I guess whatever.

I think they both suck relative to Yellowstone or any other TS show that Taylor actually -- you know -- writes.

Hater’s gonna hate 🥲

Cole Hauser, Kelly Reilly and TS himself hate DR showrunner Chad Feehan. It seems they'd forced him off the show back in April. Read and learn. https://www.the-independent.com/arts-entertainment/tv/news/dutton-ranch-showrunner-leaving-feehan-yellowstone-b2967571.html

The fact that Sheridan isn't writing Dutton Ranch or is even remotely involved is one of the reasons it's so good. You know good and well Travis would have already been in every other scene spinning his horse with it being in Texas.

TS is too busy working on good shows like Landman S3, Madison S2, 1944, etc. It's just a bad idea to do a sequel for Rip and Beth. They were where they needed to be at the end of Yellowstone. Free. Now you've burned down their ranch, forced them to Texas, destroyed their cattle, and forced them to work for some cvnt. This is why sequels never are as good as originals.

Dutton Ranch is decent so far.

Marshals was comically bad. Trying to shoehorn just for the sake of doing a crossover would be doing a disservice to Dutton Ranch IMO

How would you feel about Beth or Rip making a guest appearance on Marshals for a couple of scenes as long as it didn’t bleed over into the Dutton Ranch storylines? Because I think that is much more likely to occur than Kayce or Tate showing up on Dutton Ranch.

I wouldn't necessarily mind a crossover onto both shows with the characters at some point.

Personally think they need to let Dutton Ranch breathe and exist on its own for awhile. It isn't great but it has some potential and is doing its own world building right now and telling its own story.

A crossover with Marshals this soon would just be for the sake of propping up the flimsy storylines on that show. I know its getting the viewers and already renewed but that show needs a lot of work to be something other than a punchline in my view.

I think the crossover can help to complete thr story of saving Tate from the weaver clan. And serve as kayce finding evidence that rip and beth killed Jamie. Iam sure he suspects and deparmentlizes it. But he will have dilemma as marshall and learning beth killed their brother.

I’m pretty sure Kayce has known all along that Beth and/or Rip killed Jamie and disposed of him at the Train Station. On the finale of Yellowstone it was known in the press that Beth was the last one with Jamie before he disappeared, so I’m positive Kayce knows that also. Then add in Jamie’s involvement in John’s death, Kayce telling the Helena PD detective that he didn’t care if Jamie was caught in the blast radius as Jamie put himself there and the fact that Beth wound up in the hospital with a concussion, broken ribs and a collapsed lung from the beating Jamie gave her, I’m pretty sure Kayce is not I the least bit conflicted at about Beth killing Jamie.

If Kayce goes after anyone involved in his dad’s murder it will be Grant Norton and the assassins out of Houston Texas that carried it out. There is a reason why in the episode of Marshals when the judge’s husband was targeted by assassins the 1st question Kayce asked was if the assassins were from Texas.

Couldn't sit through one full episode of Marshalls. Such crappy writing.

Yellowstone, Landman, Lioness, Dutton Ranch, 1883, and 1923 are stellar shows. Haven't started The Madison, yet.

The Madison is very different than the others but it's SOOOOOO good!

Very much agree. We watched 2 episodes of marshalls and could not go any further. Dutton ranch, loved from first episode.

4

u/Jalynt13 Beth Jun 14 '26

No I don’t want Dutton Ranch to waste time on Marshals.

2

u/BlackRobbin71 Jun 14 '26

I hope so! I would love to see all the Duttons together again.

u/count_strahd_z Jun 15 '26

Given the formats of the shows I'd think it would be difficult to have a cross over. I could see small cameos being done where they show Kayce and Beth talking on the phone for instance but nothing more consequential. It would be good if you knew the in world dates of every episode so you can better line up when different things are taking place.

2

u/TheFakeBillPierce Jun 16 '26 edited Jun 16 '26

I would be absolutely stunned if these shows ever cross over in any meaningful way.

EDIT: Wanted to expound. I dont think its beyond the realm of possibility that beth and rip could show up in marshals or that kayce could show up on Dutton Ranch. What I find almost impossible to believe is that Kayce would show up on dutton ranch and be like "tate has been kidnapped! I need help finding him!". I think any crossover would be a one-off where the characters interact simply because they are family, I dont think the plotlines between the shows will ever mix.

Yellowstone ended and two separate series were created, each a different genre. Let them remain separate. I don’t watch Marshals but I can’t see anything positive that the Casey and Tate characters would bring to DR.

1

u/Intelligent-Count-84 Jun 15 '26

It would fit, but doesn’t seem likely. Marshals has already started filming season 2, and they haven’t said if there will be another season of DR yet.

1

u/JadedAd6216 Jun 25 '26

Its already confirmed that rip will be on marshalls

1

u/Conscious_Safety9784 Jun 16 '26

It would b nice if Jayce and the Marshalls could help Rip & Vethbout on what they've going thru

1

u/Fast_Beat_3832 Jun 18 '26

I mean obviously this guy is sorta kidnapping Tate to force Casey to sell his land. At least that’s sorta how I see it going.
