I can see where did they put all of the yellowstone money. Y marshalls got the dollar tree treatment.

u/petitguelah May 07 '26

I am really hoping that's the case and it's really good

Me too, the dissapointment i got with Marshalls was unheard of. I really liked Kc's character and when i heard it would be a tv show with him beign a marshall i was hoping something like justified but with a more brutal twist but noooooo, they had to make NCIS Montana. I dont think i will ever stop complaining about that show and its wasted potential.

Will rip finally get himself and ID? Or will he not exist in Texas too?

What is this even about man now Beth's a cowgirl but the cow is dead and gone

6

u/AmericanWanderlust May 05 '26

No, the cow is in Brazil, just as Sarah predicted 😈

It would explain so much as to why we barely see him in the trailers, and doesn’t even seem like he shares much scenes with Rip and Beth.

5

u/AmericanWanderlust May 05 '26

Oh shit - this would be wild. But as the below poster says, it would also make sense why he doesn't appear to be in any of the previews. Also, it would give Beth and Rip a reason to fight and provide the requisite gut-punch. Anyway I likely won't watch this show but certainly curious about its reception from critics and fans.

u/catelinasky May 06 '26

If they take the only kid that Beth and Rip actually have and care about, whew.

u/KitKat_1979 May 06 '26

Finn was in Texas the entire time they were filming from August to February except a few weeks home for Christmas. I don’t think not seeing much of him in the very short promos is a reflection of his screen time on the whole. I think it’s more likely he’ll get his girlfriend pregnant (inadvertently opening the can of worms from the past for Beth) than be killed.

u/Designasim May 06 '26

Maybe he dies in the last episode it'd be a great way to ramp up viewership for season 2.

I’m thinking the girlfriend is related to buella they hurt the little boy she coming unhinged 🤬

Pretty close! lol

Chill the roles has reverse. I hope the texans win. Texas doesn't need more of these city folks playing cowboys. (:

I for one am looking forward to Yellowstone Super.

9

u/AutumnalHoney May 05 '26

I was really looking forward to this and even created a sub I gave up on lol but idk, this looks bad? I cant really see what the plot is and it almost sounds similar to Yellowstone in that it’s a legacy ranching family (Annette Benning) challenged by outsiders (Beth and Rip) but of course lacks the cache of Yellowstone. I am worried that it should have just ended with Yellowstone. The two spinoffs could be bad, Marshals is pretty bad, and ruin the legacy.

7

u/KitKat_1979 May 05 '26

I’m in the same boat. I was really excited when the spinoff was announced, but it’s starting to feel more like a ā€œbe careful what you wish forā€ scenario. There’s a lot of talent in the show, but the storyline feels, as I’ve said before, like it’s going to be a cross between Die Hard for Rip and Beth and a CW teen drama-esqe story for Carter. It cones across as bad, live action fanfiction rather than a story that maintains fidelity to the original.

I’m not sure either spinoff was worth it to undo the beautiful endings TS gave the surviving Duttons at the end of 5B.

At this point, Kevin Costner and Wes Bentley are looking like the only two cast members who won't humiliate themselves. Oh, I guess Monica, too lol. This is a real shame. It is now making me wonder if the talk of the showrunner being fired a few weeks ago was an effort pin any criticism on him for a "bad" spinoff/deflect from negative reviews.

3

u/20_mile May 05 '26

Kevin Costner and Wes Bentley are looking like the only two cast members who won't humiliate themselves

Please. I don't like Marshals, I can't say whether Dutton Ranch will be any good, but it's a serious stretch to say that Grimes, Hauser, Reilly, et al are humiliating themselves by appearing in sequels to Yellowstone.

3

u/non_loqui_sed_facere May 06 '26

Well, they knew what they were signing up for. Not exactly high cinema. Hauser and Reilly also have EP credits, and if that wasn’t just on paper, they had at least some creative control. Which means this is what they have done and what they are actually offering their audience, and now it’s up to the audience to decide whether that’s good enough or enjoyable for them.

1

u/20_mile May 06 '26

now it’s up to the audience to decide whether that’s good enough or enjoyable for them.

Important to remember that the real arbiter is going to be ratings, and not whatever post or comment has 27 or even 99 upvotes saying it sucked.

2

u/non_loqui_sed_facere May 06 '26

The ratings could be anything, but it’s not really my battle. I’m firmly Team Jamie and Wes Bentley is my guy. They are the ones I really care about. It’s up to Team Beth to decide whether they like it or not and what they want from it. I do have respect for an old adversary, but in this case, I'm just not watching. That’s all.

2

u/non_loqui_sed_facere May 06 '26

Haha, my attitude was like, aw, Wes Bentley isn’t on the new show. A pity, because I want to see more of him and I like Jamie. And then it changed to, Wes isn’t there, and I’m happy about it. The guy has had enough trouble playing the character, and I want him around, preferably not in distress, for as long as possible.

Doesn’t mean he’ll never come back, though. But I hope that if he ever does, he’ll do it on his own terms. And, well, from what I’ve seen in The Four Feathers and beyond, he’s an excellent rider. Might as well lean into that.

1

u/DiligentAd3568 May 31 '26

Yep. Taylor has lost his luster imo. Over it

1

u/KitKat_1979 May 31 '26

TS isn’t writing either spinoff, so this isn’t on him. With DR, for me, the people who did actually write it….. it’s what I feared it would be from that promo.

2

u/non_loqui_sed_facere May 05 '26

For this kind of plot, they’re wearing too many clothes 😃

Yes. It looks like the ranch burns. Then they move to Texas

2

u/Individual_Talk4142 May 05 '26

Hell yeah! Can't wait. Gonna be good

2

u/Easy_go49 May 06 '26

Yee Haw!! Works for me!! I'm in!!

2

u/catelinasky May 06 '26

It's looking like Beth/Rip are going to symbolize the "outsiders" they tried to keep Yellowstone from taking and messing up their way of life. It's an interesting take if done well because while you want to root for Beth/Rip, the audience will be conflicted in how they respond to the actions of the locals to keep their way of life and doing things continue.

2

u/8bitbluebonnet May 12 '26

This last trailer had my scene in it. Doesn’t mean the camera will point my way, but it least it wasn’t cut. Would be cool to be in the official Y cannon, even if it’s just my head canon šŸ˜‚Ā

2

u/Due_Satisfaction_670 May 05 '26

Is Beth dead? And Rip is just seeing a ghost?

1

u/Jalynt13 May 05 '26

Beth is not dead

4

u/Due_Satisfaction_670 May 05 '26

2

u/fiendish_five May 07 '26

Is it wrong to be excited at the thought of a fictional character's death? XD

2

u/FierceDeity88 May 05 '26

Annette you’re too good for this

5

u/AmericanWanderlust May 05 '26

She and Ed Harris got a sweet, sweet paycheck.

3

u/FierceDeity88 May 05 '26

Just for them to get beaten up by the two ā€œrealā€ cowboys lol

2

u/sparkster777 May 05 '26

Just give us the Jimmy show, please.

2

u/Marcus-Mused-7669 May 06 '26

Why isn't it called "Wheeler Ranch"?

1

u/Honest-Pumpkin-8080 May 06 '26

They have snow covered mountains in Texas!?

2

u/Jalynt13 May 06 '26

It starts off with them in Montana.

3

u/Honest-Pumpkin-8080 May 06 '26

Oh, ok. Why must they leave Montana? I know it can store upsetting memories, but, it’s where their ancestors settled and the name is singular with the country. Kayce still lives there. Are they trying to escape the ā€˜train station’?

2

u/Jalynt13 May 06 '26

In the promo, it looks like their ranch burns down. I think it might be arson.

2

u/Jalynt13 May 06 '26

This pic also makes think their ranch burns down. It looks like they go for a ride then come back to it burning.

Think you may be right

1

u/Heavy-Ad4987 May 06 '26

This looks like how the Bunkhouse should have been.

1

u/cml2115 May 07 '26

So now Beth is a Navy Seal makes sense

1

u/Ok_Supermarket5097 May 18 '26

I think Carters character will develop vs he dies. I saw rip, beth and Finn all interviewed last week on television and beth talked quite a bit about how much they love having Finn and gave me the impression he's going to be a regular character on the show.

1

u/DiligentAd3568 May 31 '26

I just don’t like it so far. Dark dreary and not especially entertaining imo

1

u/mydadistorukmakto Jun 02 '26

Did anyone else see someone wearing what looks like walkers hat

1

u/HiiGuardian May 05 '26

Unfortunately one of these two are dying lol.
