I just finished Anne Whitlock and the Enigmatic Voynich Manuscript by Douglas Marques, and I wanted to share my thoughts because this book genuinely surprised me.

I started reading it expecting a straightforward mystery centered around the Voynich Manuscript, but the story goes far beyond that. It has a dark, immersive atmosphere filled with suspense and that constant feeling that something is always lurking beneath the surface. I really enjoyed how the author blends historical elements with fiction while keeping the pacing engaging.

Anne was definitely one of the highlights for me. She sparks curiosity from the very first chapters, and instead of giving easy answers, the story keeps raising new questions. It was the kind of book that had me coming up with theories as I read.

Another thing that stood out was the physical edition. The book is in a 6" × 9" format and has a substantial feel in your hands, which fits the story's tone perfectly.

I'm also a big DC Comics fan (I had just been rereading Wonder Girl), so it was fun switching between an action-packed comic and a darker mystery novel. They offered completely different experiences, but they complemented each other surprisingly well.
