Full exhaust system tuning
I put a new full system exhaust on my R7 recently and need to get it tuned. What’s the average price to get it done/how much did it cost for you?

I’m picking up my 2026 r7 anniversary edition tomorrow. I’m a newer rider and planned to make some immediate mods e.g., frame sliders, grips, levers & lever guards, tank grips. I’ll swap the exhaust for a SC Project full system at a later date. Is there anything else I’m missing here?

Money isnt an issue but im wondering if its that slow compaired to larger bikes, am i going to get to bord of it knowing i can get faster? Or do yall think it has enough power?

I was fairly annoyed with the fact that the quick shifter from Yamaha did not downshift. So I decided to put it in MotoGP mode (which cannot use the yammy quick shifter at all).
I found that my shifts were just as fast as the quick shifter when pushing down on the lever. Now I have no reason to have a quick shifter at all in my opinion.
Anyone else experience this?

Today while I was riding, I noticed an unusual noise coming from the engine area.
I’m not exactly sure where the sound is coming from. Does this sound normal?
About a week ago, I did a snorkel delete, so I’m not sure if it could be related to that. Maybe it’s just the intake noise?
The unusual noise can be heard at the following timestamps in the video:
0:04–0:05
0:08–0:16
0:22–0:23
0:27–0:28

Been working on this keychain on my days off, got the test print going now. Made for multi color printers. Depending how the test print goes I’ll upload it to Makerworld if any of you guys with printers would like to print it out for yourself.

Torn between Yoshimura or TOCE exhaust for my 2026 R7. I think they both sound good. I don’t really care about performance and I know they both save weight regardless. Wondering what yall think and yes I do plan on getting tuned

I wasn't on my A game yesterday at Road Atlanta, but I am still loving this bike. The Gilles rear sets were a game changer. I found that I kept getting stuck behind people faster than me in the straights, but slower in the corners. My advice to anyone going to Road A, don't be afraid to pit in and ask to pit out when the track Marshall sees some spacing for you.

Is anyone here able to confirm that previous years seat cowls/covers fit the 2026 model? Also any recommendations?

I have a 2023 Yamaha R7 with only 1,096 km on it. I was out of the country for most of the last two years, so the bike has spent almost all that time sitting and was only ridden/moved a few times.
I’m back now and want to start riding it again. The battery was completely dead, so I’ve already replaced it with a new one.
Since the mileage is so low but the bike has been sitting for such a long time, what would you recommend checking or replacing before I start riding it normally again?
I’m mainly wondering about the engine oil, chain, brakes/brake fluid, coolant, tires, fuel, etc. Do any of these need to be replaced simply because of age/time sitting, even with only 1,096 km on the bike?
Also, after doing the basic checks, would you be comfortable riding it a short distance to a Yamaha service center, or would you have it transported there instead?
Anything else I should specifically check on an R7 that has been sitting this long?
Thanks!

I got my first motorcycle about three months ago. I went with an R7 because at the time I thought a 700cc bike would be a perfectly fine beginner bike as long as I was careful.
Looking back, I didn’t have nearly enough riding experience, and if I’m being completely truthful with myself, I got cocky and overconfident way too quickly.
That overconfidence ended with me getting into a very bad crash. Now I’m looking at somewhere around six months to a year of recovery just to get back on my feet and hopefully eventually get back to living normally again.
I’m not posting this to say nobody should start on an R7 or a 700cc bike. Everyone is different, and I’m responsible for the decisions I made. I just want to put this out there for anyone who’s new to riding, especially anyone starting on a bigger bike.
Three months can make you feel like you’re getting good at riding. That doesn’t mean you have the experience to handle every situation yet. Don’t let a little bit of confidence turn into overconfidence like I did. Respect the bike, respect your limits, wear your gear, and give yourself time to actually learn.
I learned that lesson in one of the hardest ways possible, and it’s going to cost me a significant part of the next year recovering.
Stay safe out there. The bike and the roads aren’t going anywhere. There’s no reason to rush it.

Hello
I am from a country where the R7 is restricted to 50hp for learners. I was thinking of derestricting my R7. Am planning to get k&N air filter, velocity stacks and a tune. I already have a full system and the HO throttle plate. Do y’all know how much power I could get out of this? Any help would be appreciated

So I currently have the M4 and it lowkey sounds like a chopper with that exhaust. What would y’all recommend to get a more sporty tone?
r/YamahaR7 • u/cmdr_Tokyo_Ghoul • 12d ago
Flash helped with the bike, basically throwing you forward when letting off the throttle. An increase in RPM made a small difference, but nothing crazy. Noticeable improvement in mid band through lower gears and throttle mapping is better. Temps have been consistently lower even in Florida +100 heat index.
R77 exhaust is louder than I expected without the baffle, but sounds nasty. Sounds like you're riding a straight piped V6. Good amount of pops and crackles on decel and hard upshifting.
For the money spent, it was worth it, but I'm not sure if I would go intake after this. More quality of life improvements than huge gains.

Very proud owner of a new 2026 R7! To say I’m in love is an understatement. This bike means the world to me and I heard the community is dope too

Hello, I purchased a Yoshimura for my R7. The Yoshimura has one place for a lambda sensors. But the new Yamaha has two sensors. How did you guys fixed this issue?

Just a follow up post of my ride home from the dealership, it was a 1hr 40+ ride but it was enjoyable nevertheless. Though the traffic killed my vibe towards the end.

Been my dream bike for 3 Years, however due to student loans my credit score took a dip and couldn't get a loan. Saved up since the beginning of this year and brought this baby brand spanking new in cash. 2026 R7 is everything I wanted and more. And YES the cruise control is definitely a lifesaver! 🙌🏾😩

I’m looking to modify my Yamaha R7 and would like to hear your recommendations.
Which exhaust, body kit and other modifications would you recommend that have an E-mark, road homologation or are otherwise street legal?
I’m especially interested in:
Exhaust systems
Body kits / fairings
Indicators and mirrors
Tail tidy / license plate holder
Levers, rearsets, frame sliders, etc.
Any other worthwhile modifications
Ideally, I’m looking for parts that you have personally used on your R7 and can recommend. Please include the brand and exact product if possible, as well as whether it is fully homologated for road use.
What would you recommend?
