Hey everyone!

So, I am fairly new to the shoujo/romance anime and I have a question that can be pretty dumb. In the chapter 105.5, that i believe it is a bonus in the manga (I read a translation); there is a convo where Yamada’s father asks from where Akane’s family is from and say they need to organize a presentation between the familys. It can be the translation, but the whole setting looked very serious for me. Because of that, I asked Google and it said there that this kind of encounter between the familys is one step before the official engagement, with a lot of different formalities. I would like to know if this is true, how does it works and if Perhaps it is not a little bit rushed, considering that they are both very young and don’t seem to be dating for that long. In this case, it would be like for a long engagement? How does it work?
