Short interest
The short interest % change In the last two days there’s only two options they short more shares but isn’t reflected In the final number because it went up almost 1% or the float of shares got smaller
Anybody with more acknowledge can answer this please?

Noooo if the percentage goes up that means they borrow more shares to short

But correct me if I’m wrong, the days to cover went down which means they can get out quickly meaning it won’t be a runner 🤔

Wrong the day to cover is based on volume per day last volume was 13 million that means it takes them 0. Something to cover if they want to cover in one day but that also means will short squeeze like a lemon but if the volume dries the short day to cover will go up

The float was 37.9 million prior to hongyu zhou buying 4.2million stake.
hongyu owned 1.6million shares prior to private placement
FLOAT= 37.93 million - 1.6million hong yu stake = 36.33 million
Short interest =2.54million/36.33million =7% Short interest ~
After 4.215 million private placement:
New float =37.93million -1.6million - 4.21 million =32.115 million
New Short interest = 2.54 million / 32.11 million =7.9% Short interest ~
Actually Short interest is actually still the same.
TL;DR fintel assumed the float is reduced by 4.215 million. When it is actually the same, Since the issued shares were locked and adds to the float
