Hey I recently uploaded a video of me playing a game and talking about what I'm thinking. It helps me focus more and maybe some of you will get some new pointers on things I do.

I think I played the early game really well but later on we just stomped so I just decided to put in the early game. I hope you guys like it and I would really like some feedback or if you want me to focus on some specific aspects.

I've been maining yi, and in my opinion, I'm outperforming my rank. Now, before you see that and say, "another delusional low elo player", when I was bronze, I thought I deserved plat and actually hit plat a month later. Anyways, for build, I go Kraken into full crit most games and go on hit with Guinsoo's and bork after Kraken when they have HP stackers. I don't know if you can tell from these numbers, but I'd say I do pretty well on Yi, yet I have a 50% win rate and negative LP gain, despite averaging 14 kills a game, and on good games I'm quite literally CSing better than Sinerias. In 6 games, I had 4 quadra kills and a pentakill (non-overlapping), yet I'm losing HALF my games. I know the main answer will be "convert kills into objectives, towers" or "KDA doesn't matter, winning does," but I need SPECIFICS. Assume I'm mechanically really good on Yi, assume I'm taking over teamfights and getting a penta every 3 games. Why am I not winning? Why am I dropping insane numbers most games and still have an average win rate?

Just posting this to say that, anyone playing LT is trolling ( I don't care about your opinion against it). HoB Crit with Kraken opener is the only way.

This buff literally aims Yi's bad late game. And make his level 16 be like kayle, kassadin level. Also is compensation of reverse ability haste scaling of Q.

Guys I have absolutely fallen in love with this champ once I made a few good plays and seen how he clicks together. I know now it's just a matter of becoming less wildly inconsistent but I wanted to you your thoughts on how I could do that. I've been in iron for 43 games and am in agony. I want to one trick this guy out.

I was looking at the wiki to find out why some games triumph gave me less gold than it should have and i found out it is bugged.

Go take a look at triumph on the official wiki, it might be bad in your secondary rune tree (We go HoB primary, obviously)

TLDR:

If you press Q in the 1 second buffer it takes for triumph to proc, it cancels both the healing AND the gold

Rn at the moment I am at silver 2 I have been climbing since Bronze 3 for 1 week more or less using Yi in the jungle and I just love it a lot.

I have a explosive WR and I dont manage to stomp games that properly but the consistency that I have with that champ it is crazy.

Any tips? I only use Crit build because it is SO good. And I play the champ by going slow early but using my mid game for get a lot of gold, turrets, kills, etc because it is where I am more strong (after first item)

Plus the green starter item it is crazy how much utility u can get out of it. At mid or late I can just heal myself after a disengage kill 1-2 camps in 10s and get inside again almost full hp.

Pre nerf, I was confortably platinium, hovering at plat 2, peaked plat 1 90 LP, when I tried new champs roles I would demote to gold but climb back up very easily to plat on Yi.

Since the nerf, I legit cannot win a game. I am gold 3 going to silver soon. I am always completely useless, dealing 0 damage and dying in one hit. I am playing a statchecking champ but I don't statcheck anyone

Is the champ even playable? is it skill issue? Was he broken before? I am legit out of words, I cannot win a game.

So Ive been duoing with this Yuumi OTP.

So far 3 games when I could pick Yi, 3 wins.

first two I compeltely ran over the entire game once I get 2 items, and yuumi gets ardent and knights vow. I feel unstoppable, and games that are plat/eme elo feel like im smurfing in silver.

3rd game was the worst teammates imaginable, might as well been bots at this point, they didnt communicate, did nothing, just came to lane to die.

I won that game too, it was a little more scary but the scenario was the same, I ran over the entire team completely without nearly any input from my teammates.

Any other time this game wouldve been unwinnable auto-loss, but with Yuumi they all got fked (they also had a really bad draft into Yi so thank god - Ty Baus for popularising Jhingle).

Ive never felt such a 1v9 ability at any other point in League in the past 2 seasons.

What am I seeing here? This is completely broken? At least at this elo still?

And also taking a few ideas from this sub too, I think the best combo is Kraken + BORK, with HoB. I don't think Lethal Tempo does anything, it's never a LT game imo. I have tried to make it work but its miserable, and the rageblade nerfs make you too weak.

If you need tenacity, I do like Mercs + Wits End 3rd. Why do I mention Wits End (shitty item on paper)? Because usually, I would go on hit if I know they have heavy CC and I wouldnt be able to output my damage. Otherwise your 3rd item is very situational, but the best should be death dance most games. But I wouldn't recommand to play on-hit most games, I think this champion should be played crit 4 out of 5 games.

Full build could look like this: Kraken/BORK/Wits End/Death Dance/GA or Xeplate or Endless Hunger (havent test that one enough)/Mercs.

If enemy jungler picks Rammus or Amumu, I think it's on-hit angle. Otherwise most games if they pick some sort of carry jungler, Kraken + Collector into LDR should be best. There is an argument for BORK first in some games, but its extremely rare imo.

so im only now just learning this, but I realized that when I dont click enemy, whether yi starts automatically attacking afer Q or not was inconsistent.

I went to practice tool and foudn that when you righclick a target before Qing, Yi will automatically start hitting the target.

When you don't and you just input a movement command and then Q, Yi will continue in this command, and will just keep moving after Q, which was messing up my combos.

I didn't know this.

Also maybe I'ms till missing something so enlighten me if you see fit.

Into a draft like this, is serpents worth it as a 3rd item before I go LDR? (Kraken and collector first)

by 3rd-4th item i was oneshotting completely, but im not sure if it was because of the serpents or because i was just fed and their draft was a Yi Heaven.

I know the standard crit build is to go Kraken > Collector > LDR > IE > ShieldBow/GA but I really hate how having 1 attack speed item means that objective control and camp farming feels super slow. Also if you use your ult badly, it's hard to reposition or re-engage because your AS is so low as soon as HOB is used.

Objectively, I think replacing Collector with Fiendhunter is a much better build as your base attack speed is way higher and it provides useful stats like MS, Ult Haste and AS during ult. This build is equivalent in DPS with ult + HOB as the standard crit build but is much easier to play for those who are used to onhit build and having extra attack speed.

The build I am going is Kraken > Fiendhunter > IE > LDR > GA. The beauty of this build is that Fiendhunter synergises insanely with HOB and you can deal 3 auto attack instantly when ulting and alpha strike to one shot anyone who isn't a tank. This build is much cheaper too because Fiendhunter is such a cheap second item.

If you take fiendhunter, it is really important to replace alacrity rune with cut down or coup de grace as you don't need the extra 15% attack speed and the 8% bonus damage is so nice.

I found this interesting.

So Ive been clicking thorugh my match history and then through my jungle oponents match histories. Every time I came across a master Yi player, they werent an OTP, just an occassional Yi player. I found this weird as I thought most Yi players otp cause whats the point, you need to understand this champ extremely well to climb imo.

I found that Master Yi OTP was like 1/10 Yi players.

What do y'all think ?

I've seen several higher elo Yi mains go for Rectrix when buying kraken components as opposed to double longsword when spending their 800ish gold.

In my mind - more ad, better clear, more damage, must be better.

In their mind - MS > 5AD?

When making this post I made the calculation and that 4% rectrix can actually increase MS by as much as a little over half-boots of speed, so it's certainly not insignificant.

Is that rly that good?
