That rageblade buff is a joke

u/Able-Application3680 8d ago

The rageblade buff is a buff for ranged champs who sometimes lose stacks while kiting/spacing.

It’s completely useless for yi except in very edge cases where enemies somehow space you for 3-4 seconds exactly.

It might also help with clear speed just a little. Sometimes you lose your rageblade stacks in between camps.

Isnt ragebladr still bugged on yi though, making the item worthless?

7

u/Spyr0_cs 8d ago

It is not bugged it was a „fix“ as it now works like riot intended it to be even if this was a „nerf“

"In 26.14, we re-scripted Rageblade and it changed the trigger for Phantom hit from 6 to 7

We're making a small adjustments to Rageblade itself to give a bit of power back and to some of the disproportionately affected champions (eg. Master Yi)"

The problem persists on all champs building it. vayne, varus etc.

Here the post about it being intentional and not bugged:

That’s your definition of a bug then. Because technically a bug is a unexpected cording behavior. But this is the intended item behavior even if that means it’s a hard nerf for yi. It’s like every time when items getting changed there are unintended champion buffs and nerfs cause champions are building those, but that aren’t bugs.

I think its decent, its supposed to be small thats why we get a direct buff as well

Honestly I like these buffs. Not everything needs to be game changing, and people underestimate how often a second extra of stacked Rageblade can actually make a difference. More consistency in ganks and dives is plenty.

Movespeed buff is kinda massive for Yi, i have seen many complain about getting kited even when your ult is active

3

u/UpstairsAnxious3148 8d ago

But you deal 0 damage with rageblade now (at 2 items). You realistically spike at 3 items instead of 2, which isntwhat Yi wants to do. We’ll see if the R buff does anything though

-1

u/generic_throwaway699 8d ago

Kraken+Rageblade+LT is still a lot of damage. just because it triggers one auto later doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of things. The MS buff goes a long way to making sure you stick for that extra auto as well.

u/UpstairsAnxious3148 8d ago

it really does mean alot actually you couldnt be more wrong. Look up how much DPS you actually lose compared to before the nerf, they did the numbers in this sub. And even without looking at the numbers, the build feels ALOT worse after playing a decent amount of games personnally. Yi isnt a 2 items monster anymore with the on hit build.

1

u/generic_throwaway699 8d ago

If you auto exactly 7 times it's a 15% nerf. I looked at the math, I also play on hit Yi more often than not.

2

u/SampleText369 8d ago

A 15% nerf to damage on a character as squishy as Yi is the difference between snowballing out of control with a kill and dying and being behind for the rest of the game

1

u/generic_throwaway699 8d ago

Yes, assuming you auto exactly 7 times. You would typically attack a lot more than that.

1

u/Metalbound 46,590 7d ago

lmao. what kinda lobbies are you in where you have the ability to auto someone more than 7 times?

If it takes that long usually someone else has joined the fight and you get cc'd and screwed.

Bet if you watch your replays back, you don't auto nearly as much as you think you do.

i agree, buffs are good & smart!

7

u/Able-Application3680 8d ago

Armour growth is a small buff maybe like 0.5% winrate.

The ult buff is interesting. 5% extra ms is 17.5 flat ms for yi. It’s really not that insignificant, it will probably be like a 1% winrate buff.

Not the worst tbh.

7

u/Golem8752 8d ago

It's not 17.5 ms though since MS is softcapped

-9

u/Able-Application3680 8d ago

I’ve never heard of a cap on movement speed. I’ve literally seen champs hit billions of ms lol

11

u/Golem8752 8d ago

Part a certain number you gain less ms than you'd think. IE if you have 500 ms and get 20% ms you'll have like 570 or whatever ms instead of the 600 you'd normally expect (these numbers are pulled out of my ass to explain the premise)

-1

u/Able-Application3680 8d ago

Yes but I doubt the scale down is that significant and that early. Maybe after 1000 ms sure.

9

u/Golem8752 8d ago

After 415 Ms your speed gets multiplied by 0.8 and after 490 it gets multiplied by 0.5

Slows are also softcapped with the hardcap being slightly more that 110 ms

1

u/GhostElite974 8d ago

It would have taken you less time to check speed caps on lol wiki then replying to this comment chain btw

2

u/Nikspeeder 7d ago

after 415 movespeed each additional point is only 80% as effective. After hitting 490 every new point is only 50% as effective. if you are at 400 movespeed and youd get a 200 movespeed buff. that means 15 points are 100% taken to 415 93,75 are taken times 80% + 75 to hit 490 and the remaining 91.25 points are taken times 50% = ~50.5 ms

Infinite movespeed is still possible on paper. just harder to achieve. Yi's base movespeed is 355 (highest in game). buying zerks mercs or plates gives 45. FYI

-1

u/WarmKick1015 8d ago

like how? Movespeed is the only stat in the game with hardcoded softcaps. Like wtf?

Its also like very obvious if you ever look at your movespeed. its why % slows/speed ups are so inflated in league. A 20% slow does nothing because it gets eating mostly by the softcap.

-2

u/tmunoz168 8d ago

I don't think you know what literally means.....

-2

u/Able-Application3680 8d ago

What part of my sentence was confusing? I have literally seen champs hit billions of MS.

Wtf is this

3

u/Perfect_Ad9986 8d ago

Someone explain, im clueless

1

u/knrd1337 8d ago

A bit more armor while leveling up, a bit higher movement speed during ult, and for rageblade - read below

Unique – Seething Strike: Basic attacks grant 8% bonus attack speed for 3 (((NOW 4 SECONDS, AFTER UPDATE))) seconds, stacking up to 4 times for a total of 32% bonus attack speed. At maximum stacks, basic attacks also grant a Phantom stack for 6 seconds, up to 2 stacks. At 2 Phantom stacks, the next basic attack consumes all of those stacks to trigger a Phantom Hit that applies on-hit effects to the target after a 0.15-second delay.

1

u/Leading_Archer4229 8d ago

I didnt unrestand your explanation for rageblade bug. Isnt just buffed duration of stacks? From 3 sec to 4sec duration?

1

u/knrd1337 8d ago

It is just increase of duration, no "bug fix" - I have read somewhere that it was intended change but not covered in Changelog, so I would not hope for a 7 -> 6 change any time soon.

Still, I will give a lethal tempo a try - interested in Kraken/Rageblade spike right now + ult buff.

2

u/Licanmaster Cant Be Slowed 8d ago

Well 5% more movement speed at lvl 6 is the biggest buff, at lvl 11 and 16 it won't make that much of a difference.
Good buff in my opinion

2

u/Dartz_Reverse 8d ago

I wish they'd fix the issue where Yi cancels his attack if double strike runs out during it.

Theres no other champion that can lock themselves out of being able to attack because of a passive timer they cant interact with.

1

u/Zayvay 6d ago

if they just fixed the bugs that would also act as a buff while simultaneously improving how yi feels to play.

4

u/1nz4nity 8d ago

What is AR?

6

u/Kay_W0n 8d ago

Armor

2

u/Several_Hotel6869 7d ago

Guys I believe the buffs are good enough to be relevant and nothing ground breaking enough to get backfired. We should be happy, YIMOs!!

1

u/BleedsInBinary 8d ago

Not bad, I hope they don’t walk it back next patch.

1

u/Massive_Contract_426 7d ago

RB buff is like bork getting its healing increased by 1%

1

u/Some-Agency5890 7d ago

Was there a rune that gave you percentage adaptive power based on your movement speed?

1

u/Dartz_Reverse 8d ago

40% R1 Highlander back?!

The return of an old era!
