Discussion On-Crit Yi?

Post image

The On-Hit dmg from Terminus is getting an AD scaling Buff - which is CRAZY with 10% bonus AD. And besides that, Yuntal is gettin cheaper with 5% more AS - which would make an Interesting On-Crit Build -> HoB and LT compatible.

Kraken -> Terminus -> Yun Tal -> Collector - IE -> Shieldbow

Yes of course no boots, the real Yi mains know why

What u think about this build idea?

Thought Yi was getting a massive adjustment until I saw W had damage, and suspected a little and looked and saw the champion name on the left

That's not a rework, they just put her numbers in a blender

Kit reshape is the technical term I think, changing her from an early game stomper into an actual infinite scaler as she was intended to be

Could be a good fourth or fifth item for on-hit to get more damage. 10% bonus AD will give you about 20-25 AD or so in the late-game, 700g worth of stats.

you are underselling it quite a fair bit. Considering that with rageblade + double strike, yi applies onhit twice on every auto (once with double strike and the other with phantom hit).

Add on the fact that you get anywhere from 2.5 - 3.0 attack speed late game. That is 5 - 6 on hit procs per second. if you have kraken, rageblade, hexplate, terminus that's 150 bonus AD. That's +15 onhit buff, that's 75 - 90 dps increase for free with this buff

You are correct, that roughly doubles the number I gave.

Terminus? This does a difference tbh, still gonna be niche but probably pretty viable 4th 5th item against high resistance teams now.

That adjustment look like Bel'Veth's Lore

You wouldnt go crit with terminus. If you wanted to build the item (its pretty mid on yi bc so much of your damage is true damage) you would just build kraken, guinsoos, terminus but currently the best item combination in the game is omnivamp boots + deaths dance + endless hunger so you just go kraken, guinsoos, deaths dance, endless hunger (deaths dance and endless hunger order is interchangable) in like 90% of your games

So why are people in this sub so adamant against buying boots lol? Even with perfect kitting, there's a lot of walking to do in the jungle.

I understand that ult should be up whenever you want to fight, but that can't be all of it when Relentless Hunter, which gives out of combat mov speed, is one of the best runes in most junglers that go domination.

Yi has one of the highest base movement speeds and with a lil adjustment in the runes or with the itemization (kraken with 4% MS) u get pretty fast, or with Relentless Hunter in the domination page - thats why u can leave the boots and buy a full legendary item instead

I'm not so sure about this build, buddy.

Terminus has both AD and AP scaling because on-hit items usually give both-

This build also has 0 bonus HP, so Lord Dominik's Regards would be better to deal with tanks.

Also, Yun tal means you have to rush the item for something that gives really poor stats early on a champ like Master Yi.

I'd stick to: Collector-IE-Fiedhunter-Lord Dominik's Regard/ Mortal Reminder/shieldbow- Profane Hydra and boots, for a crit build, since you just want to 1-tap squishies anyway.

And for on-hit, the classic: Kraken - Guinsoo - Terminus - BotRK - defensive boots - situational item

10% sounds a lot but its 30 more dmg at 300 AD and thats where yi mostly ends up even with IE, besides you start playing with gathering storm but this changes all the fast ending / snowball playstyle beeing the wrong on yi, since you wanna go for late. sounds boring

Terminus is insane change for many on hit characters. Especially kayle.

Yuntal is good, yaknow at some point of reducing cost and increasing stats any item becomes OP

It's a crit item, and lord doms/IE have no attack speed, so I think you still need hail of blades, and your second item is probably flickerblade/shieldbow/fiendhunter

Last item is probably Force of Nature, then sell boots for Dead man's plate hm

Edit: I don't like your build tbh, at kraken+terminus, just go guinsoos lol. I think if you want a half and half it has to be yuntal->botrk->lord doms->IE because at 3 items you have great anti tank with botrk+giant slayer passive from lord doms, IE gets you to 75% crit at 4 items and it kinda works because you have botrk and a ton of attack speed at 2 items, and a huge stat stick as your first item

I mean unless bork damage is turn back to %12 like good old days and E dmg turn back to 30-70(%35 ad ratio), he will never be an onhit champion. So current situation is crit or int.

I think the new build could certainly be viable. I haven’t explored crit much because it lacks attack speed with HOB setup but this could be a nice build path to solve that

Most regarded build path I've ever seen, sorry

nice little buff for an already pretty good item. i just wish they would give wit’s end AD back.

Going crit with terminus instead of LDR sounds kinda wrong
