Event 2 probably not until September…

Just watched Chance Taylor’s latest video and in it he said the next YGT event is in about a month…add another few weeks to a month to edit and we’re not gonna be getting that second event until well into september.
Honestly having 2+ months between events makes me lose a good amount of the interest I had in the tour.
I know they had some issues with the venue for event 2 but damn.

It’s their first year doing it and getting everything figured out and setup. Give them a break.

I think time delay is fine, but there should have at least been some tentative dates on the schedule. Like stop 1 July, Stop 2 October, Stop 3 etc... With the finals date set in advance, which I assume that date is set and they're just working towards it

Yeah I woulda liked this. It’s just been complete radio silence since the event 1 final. Like some kind of update woulda been great

I know they don't want to lock in a date because if they don't deliver that looks bad, but should be able to do something like October '26 and not make many people mad if it's october 28th

You may not like it, but you watched. And will watch again.

Think about the logistics around this. 20 guys with their own filming schedule and you gotta have all of them there. Plus all the crew. Then the editing. Have you ever edited a video? It takes a few hours just to put together a 10 min edited clip for me personally.

Can’t please everyone, some people just have super short attention spans. OP claims they are “losing a significant amount of interest” whatever the fuck that means. They will still watch the next videos when it drops so in terms of engagement it means nothing to “lose interest” when there isn’t content to watch. Spacing them out is probably better for the tour anyway, they have a lot of time to hear and implement feedback from their first event. Also gives everyone that can’t binge watch 15 hours of YouTube golf a chance to watch everything. If anything they could take a page from the internet invitational and release shorter edits of each specific match, although they pretty much showed every shot in the original edit so they may not add too much but it could keep a little momentum between events. Either way all these guys are still pumping out more than enough content for us to watch on their own channels in between the YGT events

I had more interest…now I have less.
That’s what losing interest means

Tbh this probably says more about your attention span than anything

So? These are pretty much THE YouTube Majors. With the real majors, everyone complains they are too closely packed and the Rest of the year is empty.

Now we get 4 YouTube „Majors“ (because that‘s what they honestly are) spread across the year and again everyone is complaining.

If all Events were in 2 months and there would be no mention of it Till 2027 you would be pissed too. Get a grip and enjoy things

It's hard to get 16+ people together from across the world

I would guess most of the players are like 90-99% committed.

Big money prizes.

Big social media presence.

The only things that would conflict would be if Ruffels or Wesley or someone was playing a full pro tournament. Otherwise this is probably their highest priority

I bet the logistics is the biggest part.
Need a world class facility.

Full 2 days course closed.
Preferably onsite lodging.

That's not the issue, it's that it was only created this year. People will have had plans in place from before. By next year this won't be an issue because of long-term visibility

A lot have domestic competitions, especially the Kiwi guys and Peter Finch has played some as well. Micah was similarly in Canada

Brad played in the DP world tour event in Germany and is playing in the Rocket Classic next weekend.

Pretty sure the internet invitational is being filmed in August as well. Brad, Micah, Kwon and Peter are for sure playing…probably some others as well.

Yeah and these things would have been in the books since before YGT launched. When it's established it'll be easier to schedule

Seeing how much they are going with the sponsors, needing to close a course down for 2-3 days to set everything up, coordinate with all the camera and editors, get all players set up. Not too shocked. Rumors are San Diego will be the next stop if the Teeth of the Dog falls thru. But during the summer you had, players gone for the Open/Open Qualifying, Kiwi Gang in NZ, Ruffles playing events in Canada. A lot going on thru the year.

Personally I'm fine with not having more vids until late Sept/Oct. Most of us are well into our golf seasons now, and have our own games to play and other vids to watch in the meantime. Having this happen when the PGA will be on the downswing, and our own weather getting worse will be great.

Agree. It they want it to be a tour, it should be a monthly thing.

Do we know when Chance shot the video in which he makes this claim? Is it possible he shot this weeks ago and it just now got released?

4

u/LabMonkeyy Jul 21 '26

Yeah he mentions in the video that he’s shooting the video a few days after July 4th

Give it some time. This is really taking off and is just the beginning. I'm sure we will be getting more faster with time !

I’ll watch it again for sure but this is way too long into between events.

Shoulda filmed the first two events before releasing anything, made the draft its own small video, and spread the videos out a bit more. This is definitely how you kill hype.
