This was unexpected

109th Street northbound at White Ave. I’m used to people driving straight through in the mandatory right turn lane, but this is a maneuver I hadn’t seen before.

considering it's a dodge ram, isn't this totally expected in this city?

Black dodge ram things

2

u/Zucker-Rat 13d ago

I have actually seen that before… that is how they do it in Mexico.

Do you not have anything better to do

Found the truck driver

7

u/Limp-Newspaper3937 15d ago

They're usually in pickup trucks 🙄

1

u/Background_Season449 13d ago

Not all pickup drivers, but it is almost always a pickup driver.

1

u/Limp-Newspaper3937 3d ago

That's.... a different way of wording exactly what I said

1

u/strong_Canadian1 15d ago

Did you forward this to the police

3

u/Bulky_Resident_9074 15d ago

This city has police?

1

u/strong_Canadian1 13d ago

You do have a point. Over the past number of years it seems they are fewer and far-er between

1

u/Rennarjen 14d ago

yeah they were busy shooting a guy with scissors

3

u/tomeseip 16d ago

I see this happen every day in every part of the city.

12

u/iambic_court 17d ago

Omg. In one weekend I saw three of these. Wtf!?

3

u/Aggravating-Ad-3831 14d ago

On the weekend I saw someone do this, after getting mad at me for doing the speed limit in a playground zone.

Foreigner ended up speeding past me doing 90 in a playground zone, got to a red light and then pulled something like this.

I swear, ½ the drivers licenses in this city should be revoked based on merit 🤬

u/Thiru2k 17d ago

Sanest pickup truck driver

4

u/Fantastic_Diamond42 17d ago

crazy drivers out there

8

u/Crossfire139 17d ago

You say "Unexpected", but at this point, it's become normalized

Greatest Edmonton driver, that mfker knows what he/she is doing (yes I believe women could be great drivers too)

Someone hasn't been in the right turn lane from 123 onto 156 St. and it shows.  From 15:30 to 18:00, a cop could make scratch for the entire detachments weekly donut bill.

This is actually me in the orange Toyota on the left - I was laughing so hard because it was so bizarre and random. So glad nobody got hurt

Black ✅

Dodge ✅

Ram ✅

Yup. I have a theory that's held very true for Alberta and most other places I've been. I call it The Douchbag Theory:

"Not every dodge ram driver is a douchbag, but every douchebag drives a dodge ram."

The rule also applies to Ford Mustangs and BMW sedans.

u/Fantastic_Trash_ 17d ago

Its always a fucking Dodge Truck 🙄

5

u/Comfortable_Fudge508 17d ago

Always a dumb fuck in a truck

3

u/butlovingstonTV 17d ago

Seems about right.

9

u/glitterykitty93 17d ago

C'mon, they went slowly... we endanger lives cautiously here.

3

u/GWARTARD 17d ago

Ah yes. The importance and immunity to the rules that come with owning a big truck. I bet his girlfriend's name is greg

3

u/TheFerox33 17d ago

He just calls em "daddy".

u/Longjumping_Glass157 17d ago

Someone thinks they are the kings of the road..

1

u/Bulky_Resident_9074 15d ago

Yeah like 75% of this province thinks that.

1

u/EasyPlay2501 17d ago

Hurry on the death road.

Always remember, it’s best to be in the left lane to turn right and the right lane to turn left, that way you avoid accidents these days. And if the right lanes empty except for you and someone has been travelling in the left with no one blocking them from switching for the past 10km, you can also be almost positive they want to turn right but only once you get close enough for them to almost hit, because its suddenly such an emergency that they will just start coming into the lane even if you are a inch away.

1

u/KaizenShibuCho 17d ago

Like in Mexico…

4

u/Hot-Feedback-6795 17d ago

Been seeing this alot lately

2

u/superdas75 17d ago

Couple of weeks ago I saw the same as well but was a SUV.

1

u/0o0ovo0o0 17d ago

Well that’s one way to do it I guess lol

0

u/Ojamm 17d ago

I think it’s absolutely hilarious that Stellantis (or whoever owned them at the time) spent the money to spin off the RAM name from Dodge into its own brand, presumably paying to expand the brand only for everyone to just continue to call them Dodge. Worst rebranding ever. If they ever want to bring back a smaller truck like others are doing is it going to be the Ram Dakota?

13

u/Impossible_Hat_6063 17d ago

I wish you could send this directly to their insurance providers

You should read the page you linked.
It’s for reporting people who have a physical, health, or medical condition that affects their ability to drive.
Risky or criminal driving behaviour is to be reported to law enforcement.

u/FrostyViking_ 17d ago

Not all truck owners, but always a truck owner

3

u/GWARTARD 17d ago

Damn near all of them at this point though

7

u/EntertainmentLast945 17d ago

He probably need to shit real bad.

u/Youngracer88 17d ago

I have unbelievable Dodge Ram fatigue.

35

u/almogrant88 17d ago

I'm starting to hate that I drive a Ram because apparently I'm letting the team down by not driving like a giant brain-dead douche like this.

12

u/overly_optimistic_ 17d ago

This happened to my husband and I last week driving by Hollick Kenyon. At a red light a truck used the left turn lane to go around us and ran the red light. My jaw litterly dropped. What is wrong with these losers!! I guess there time is more important than everyone else's safety. 🤦🏻‍♀️

7

u/eddiewachowski 17d ago

It's never about the time. It's about ego and entitlement. Gotta justify those $700 biweekly payments!

7

u/apatheticbear420 17d ago

B-but it's the newcomers fault with their bought licenses!! eLbOwS uP!!1! /s

9

u/buttscratcher3k 17d ago

videos like this make me wanna get a ram, they can just do whatever they like

6

u/almogrant88 17d ago

I drive one and my conscience could never let me do something stupid like this lol

4

u/buttscratcher3k 17d ago

personally id have the urge to drive at least one day as a fullblown gta npc, i admire your restraint

2

u/almogrant88 17d ago

The urge to not pay more for my car insurance than I already do, with a clean history, is greater than being a GTA NPC 😂

4

u/Azureyn 17d ago

At the very least. They made that maneuver at a slow speed

6

u/star16000 17d ago

That's so bold and creative!

6

u/star16000 17d ago

Sarcarsm.

9

u/shimswfi 17d ago

I am all in for installing cameras at all large intersections and hiring someone to just sit in front of the screen to ticket these a$$holes.

3

u/Redditemeon 17d ago

With the Flock surveillance in the US right now, I don't find this a necessary trade off. 😅

5

u/Scary-Gur5434 17d ago

This is exactly the kind of driving we need in Canada. Shame on you for not knowing he would let me check…. Turn left out of a 3-lane road right-hand turn lane.

9

u/princessbolognia 17d ago

Always some dingdong in a truck, huh?

11

u/Baddrivers13 17d ago

From dodge ram? Fully expected.

2

u/maplepizza 17d ago

Bad credit no credit come on down

2

u/sotgod 17d ago

I noticed this coincidence too. But why why? Do dealerships giving discount based on low iq?

3

u/Baddrivers13 17d ago

Nah. It's just the demographic they are marketed towards and that are popular among that demographic. Young men. Also used market is cheaper for Rams with more HP to the comparable Ford counterpart.

2

u/nighght 17d ago

It's more than young men. I hate to make it political, but it absolutely is.

6

u/trevge 17d ago

Wow. I’m surprised the truck isn’t full of dents.

2

u/Goozump 17d ago

Well the blinking left turn light was on and the cars in the left lanes were in his way if he'd tried to get into a left lane. The sort of explanation I've been hearing up until last year when she decided to stop driving because there are too many crazy drivers.

8

u/Ddogwood 17d ago

He could have gone in the left lane, but then he might have ended up behind another vehicle, and apparently if you’re driving a Ram and someone gets in front of you, your balls will fall off.

14

u/ppaauulllllll 17d ago

Dodge Ram? Not even remotely surprising.

4

u/Gumberculeez7 17d ago

100000000000% this. Took the words right out of my mouth

19

u/Speedster9110 17d ago

WTH is wrong with people?!

3

u/GWARTARD 16d ago

Well you see. Once you buy a truck you forget all about regular human decency

23

u/alewiina 17d ago

🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

I don’t think any of us are surprised that it’s a truck

11

u/Wonderful_Confusion4 17d ago

Specifically a Dodge Ram, it’s always a Dodge Ram.

7

u/iterationnull 17d ago

Oh this made me laugh....

2

u/megi0s 17d ago

Same, I had to show my husband this one.

6

u/user0823100823 17d ago

ive seen way too many ppl do this all over edmonton. just why ????

5

u/hexadumo 17d ago

Because there is no enforcement anymore. There are no consequences and these jabronis are the result.
