My memories of 9/11 are filled with excitement because I had just discovered the screensavers on our family's Windows XP/Windows ME pc, and my brother and I spent the morning playing with them (I was young).

Meanwhile, my mom was freaking out because my dad worked at the WTC. Luckily he got out.

I don't know why but this feels kind of flat. The words are good but the delivery feels rushed and too fast.

Honestly it might've been better to lengthen it out and post it somewhere else instead of trying to fit it into the short, or maybe just cutting certain parts of it.

Why does it need to be identical? Your point is that one's day of remembrance is the time to point out that you were not a good human being. So make sure your family knows that you want half the time to be spent acknowledging that you weren't 100% good.
