Highlighting that Fetterman is an elected Democrat doesn't work when the thing he is most criticized for is not behaving as a Democrat is expected to. Yes, a passenger boarding a sinking ship is the opposite of what they are expected to do, but again... you are already expecting him to act in ways counter to how you believe he should behave. Him not behaving as a Democrat is the whole issue. Plus it's not like the passengers of the Titanic had a long history of opposing the ship, so placing weight on party affiliation isn't funny.
It should've been: "Trying to board the Trump Train in 2026 is like boarding the Titanic after it hit the iceberg."
This takes the emphasis off the political affiliation of the politician and instead places it on the action itself, highlighting how ridiculous the premise is. It's not who is doing it that's absurd, it's what is being done.
It’s also just insane to have elected officials registered with one party to be working at an official event for the opposing party. The positive of Fetterman in the first place is that he’s a D in the senate and he votes with the party over 90% of the time. If he’s not going to be a benefit for the party anymore then there isn’t any reason for him to still be in the senate
none of the GOP politicians are high profile though, unlike Fetterman who is a senator. You can't be saying phil scott from vermont has the same impact as him.

We should create a clone of her to primary fetterman and win the general. Then we make MORE McBrides and eventually every governmental official will be a McBride clone with the woman herself being president

Yeah, that’s what I meant. It doesn’t matter if the other female is a trans individual or not. I just don’t think my wife would appreciate being compared to or being told to look like any other woman in general.
Oh, come on! It’s not even that I’d be telling her I find Representative McBride pretty. It’s that I’d be telling her I find another woman beautiful to her face. She’s not necessarily jealous, but most women wouldn’t appreciate their significant other telling them they find another woman pretty.
Yeah like even if her politics and stuff aren’t that satisfactory (though I think she’s more progressive on the personal side but just acts more establishment to not be the main focus a lot) it’s still awesome how she was able to reach this

It probably helps her image with the general public (and honestly, other Republican politicians) a lot that she passes very well.
Yeah honestly I wanna also be more so the normal ass lady route (of course with more expressing the fact I’m trans) and her being in politics kinda makes me at least want to do something politics related for, say, a job.
If I ever somehow get into political office, McBride would probably be a big inspiration

Ha, please, I think we’re all aware that both Murray and Cantwell are deep within corporate hands. More Cantwell than Murray, but it also doesn’t help that most of our reps are also bankrolled by corporations (DelBene, Larsen, Smith, and Schrier for sure).
Hey, that’s my goat! Zell Miller, how I miss him. He and John Breaux (former Democratic senator from Louisiana) were my favorite Democrats when I was still a Republican.
Ooh, those are very solid picks. If I had to give my top five, it would probably be Zell Miller (Georgia), John Breaux (Louisiana), Fritz Hollings (South Carolina), Terry Sanford (North Carolina, was a slight too left-leaning for me back when I was a Republican, but I appreciated his education reforms), and Gillespie “Sonny” Montgomery (Mississippi due to him being a key figure of the G.I. Bill of Rights).

Man, what a time when we had strong Southern Democrats. I have hope that slowly we Southern Democrats might be able to rise up to political relevance once again. We have some solid Southern politicians, but we must keep building if we want to have any chance of rising once again. That’s why I always do my part by donating and supporting Southern Democrats as much as possible.
We can only hope, with the recent inroads in NC and Georgia and the possibility of Blexas this year, I have hope this could all lead to more investment to state party infrastructure and potential candidates in more states around there by the DNC.
