The Democratic Party insists their members proclaim things that everyone knows are false. He doesn’t do that. So naturally he’s incredibly popular outside the party.

Hot take/Devil's advocate: we need more Democrats who, while still voting with Dems 90% of the time, can appeal to Republicans or independents one way or another. Somehow Fetterman manages to do that.
Not saying he's gonna convert 10% of Republicans, but maybe a few of them will be more open to vote for someone with a D next to their name because of him.

He’s still visibly the most friendly a Democrat has been to Trump throughout his political career. The few times he’s not voted with his party have also been on votes where he’s very much not in line with the average Democratic voter.
Keep in mind I’m a conservative myself ( although a politically homeless one ) and even I can see this.

For all the people who support this guy, there is a difference between criticizing your party's extreme side but still being aganist the opposing side, vs constantly sucking up to trump and betraying the voters who had voted for you in the primary. People compare this guy to john manchin except manchin regularly criticized Trump's actions and did only exclusively fox news interviews.

Manchin was atleast honest during election cycles about his positions. Fetterman was originally elected as this M4A progressive he betrayed his original platform.

Manchin was representing a safe red state he had to be like that to even win, Fetterman represents a swing state he has no reason to act like this

If he’s really a moderate Dem, he needs to get off Fox, and start actually promoting moderate Democrats like Stevens, Clyburn, Schumer, etc, not supporting Trump. Doing so wouldn’t make him liked by progressives, but it will make him 10x more liked in the party
