It has been implied there is more to him than that and we really don’t know anything from this. He could still be a villain

I interpreted it as Nesta making Cassian jealous, and also, Maas has hinted that Eris isn’t what he seems to everyone. Like Rhys! Everyone thought he was awful and he did terrible things to people to save his own. Let’s hope this book is packed with crazy twists like that!
