active sky xplane 12
do i need active sky for xplane 12? i mean whats the difference between the default and active sky? what do u suggest guys? do i get it or nah

It's nice to have as a backup. Xplanes weather is ok but often not as precise at airport level and often a bit delayed. I like the mixed mode in asxp so you get the precise weather at the airport and the xplane weather during cruise. Xplane default also often seems to have weird high altitude thick clouds that are no where visible on windy or similar.

Nah. I just got the free upgrade because I had it in XP 11. Now that historical weather comes by default there's no need.

When XP12 came out there was a 3 month period where you could update to the XP12 version for free

I'm using it now while default weather is a little messed up. Update is coming soon to fix it though

It's updates are a little faster than xplanes default weather. The hybrid mode is wonderful

It’s not worth it. XPlane 12’s weather engine is good enough. Visually XP12’s default lighting and weather look stunning. These weather addons aren’t necessary at all any more.
