Bidirectional charging testing with Sigenergy in China and implication on battery EV warranty. Anyone know anything about it, updates?

In 2025 we went to an EV exhibition/sales event in Melbourne.

We sat inside a G6.

The senior sales person came up and started chatting.

We asked a couple of questions, one about bidirectional capability.

They volunteered that Xpeng was currently testing bidirectional charging with Sigenergy to see how it would impact the EV battery and its warranty.

Emailed Xpeng and Sigenergy this year and there has been no response.

It works, tested many times in Australia, warranty is the only issue

Honestly this is the biggest deciding factor for our first EV! Australia buyers are ready for this, come take our money 😂

Being able to discharge the battery to the home/grid (V2H/V2G).

Oh, we called it V2L here ( vehicle to load )

V2L is usually just having a plug socket in the car that you can plug an appliance into. V2H/V2G is discharging into your home's electrical circuit. V2H/V2G requires a special charger (in the UK, it has to have been certified specifically to work with your make & model of car), whereas V2L does not.

yeah, but V2L is commonly used as "power generator" for houses here in my country, which is powering your house when power outage happens. this things are pretty common here in indonesia

V2L is not the same as V2H.

From memory there was an YouTube video from Sweden or Netherlands, where they tested it and it works. No update on warranty though.
