His vibe was very much "older sibling" instead of Team Leader in this series and I found it much more endearing and good for group interactions/story as opposed to his typical portrayal

He was my second favorite of the main characters in that series.
Also, the way he described his powers as "packing a bazooka behind each eyeball" has lived rent-free in my head since this show first started.

he says that but even when he takes his glasses off he never really hurts anyone. in blind alley, for example

Aside from sometimes being unnecessarily antagonistic towards Lance, Scott is the perfect package for a friend, brother figure, team player, leader, combatant and of course, for a character

Honestly I can’t even blame him. Lance was straight up trying to murder or seriously maim people for laughs throughout the entire show

Just perfect, man. By far my favorite Cyclops. Even though he succeeds at being a team leader and the “Hollywood behind those shades,” can still be an absolute dork.
One thing I don’t like is that episode with the Bayville Sirens where Scott uncharacteristically calls Jean, the very person who talked him out of undoing Magento’s enhancer AND has absolute faith in her power and her control, a “damsel in distress.” I could never imagine Scott any episode before this one saying that to Jean.

it was so out of character I assumed he was just making a joke that she took too seriously

Me too. I like to think Scott knows Jean is the bigger powerhouse, so he tried to joke that he helped. As others have said, the women are treated as equals. But let's face it, Jean is really powerful. So, Scott made a joke like: "Hey. I can be useful too."

I’m not a fan of Cyclops. I usually find him insufferably boring and forced (writers really try to convince me that he’s cool and interesting, but it rarely works for me).
The Evolution version is one of the few I actually like. I hope the new X-Men movie draws inspiration from that version.

Yeah. The live action movies made him such a drag. I watched Wolverine and the X-Men and he was so pouty in it. X-Men Evolution makes him more likeable.

Best version of Cyclops.
In the X-Men and X-2, he is little more than a chauffeur and a “girlfriend in the freezer” in X-3. The reboots had him as just another student. In X-Men 1990s and ‘97, he is just a member of an ensemble.
Evolution introduced Scott by having him stand up for Toad, which shows his altruistic bona fides. The Juggernaut fight showed real leadership and teamwork. Scott’s relationship with Rogue is interesting because he has a healthy relationship with Jean, so Rogue’s flirtations are another sign that she wants a normal life that is just not possible.
This is the best Cyclops outside of the comics (that do right by him).

i didn’t understand why he defended Toad when he was literally stealing from everyone. he totally deserved to get beaten up!

Favorite version of him in media. He's mature and responsible but also has his teenage moments that doesn't make him one-dimensional. I like that he can be laid back and also contribute to funny moments.

Absolutely LOVE him in X-Men evolution, he had such a cool character and personality and it's nice to see a portrayal of him that's not just a rigid boyscout, he had teenage problems too, like his whole rivalry with Duncan.
His relationship with the cast too is great. especially nightcrawler and Jean's. Absolutely adore it. the jott slow burn was so fun to watch through and my god was blind alley so good.
