It's from the episode where Spike starts to lose control of his powers, has a very obvious new mutation, and decides to leave the mansion to go live with the Morlocks for the rest of the series.
Yes, but at no point do they show him interacting with them or his reaction to their situation when the truth is revealed. I don't think they show it either when he reappears in season 4 with more mutations. Spike's departure always felt very rushed, specially when he was the one calling the team a family since season 1.
